Because the United States itself has a long record of supporting terrorists and using terrorist tactics, theslogans of today’s war on terrorism merely make the United States look hypocritical to the rest of the world. A prudent American president would end the present policy of “sustained hysteria” over potential terrorist attacks, order the removal of most of the new safety barriers in Washington and elsewhere, treat terrorism as a serious but not a strategic problem, encourage Americans to regain their confidence, and refuse to let al Qaeda keep us in a state of fright. “The hypocrisy is deeper than this. In ‘78-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism- in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation.” In 1991, a book edited by Alexander L. I really wish that the continual detractors and condemners of the US would stay home. I wish they would stand on principal and refuse our aid and help.Stop patting themselves on the back with their "free health care" where all are taken care of and take care of themselves. Leave our technology/medicines/Dr's alone and wait in line in their own utopia's. Stop coming here and demanding your "so-called rights" By and large US citizens do not go to other countries and demand they take care of us. So far what I have read on this forum by "some" Those that oppose gay marriage are bigoted homphobes.It can't be a difference of opinion as only the "emlightened" are allowed the "right" to have an opinion. It is a racist country,no doubt about it.Those on minority race have absolutely no chance.If a minority race is arrested we certainly know why even before we know the facts.Ask Obama. They are particularly persecuted and treated unfairly by those that call themselves christian.Not those christians that are liberal but the conservative christians. While it is impossible to provide quality medical care free (taxpayer) to all,it is the shame of the US that we don't. If I have the choice of being on a long waitng list or suffering the shame of the US,I will take the later. If I live in a country of socialized medicine my shame would be in biting the hand that in part makes that possible. Let each country suffer the lack or spend the time/money/years in research. The US has people in poverty.Shameful.Statisticaly poverty in the US means at least one vehicle,cable,cell phones,AC,medicaid,subsidized housing and more. It certainly must be better to be in poverty in other countries where everyone is cared for."We know" charitable giving is more generous in other countries. The problems the US faces seem to be unique to the US,if we would only open our eyes we would head for those mysterious countries that don't face the same. We have different gun laws.If we would only add more laws we should be able to find one that stops homicides by law abiding people. We use oil,shame on us.There is hope tho,in Obama's world it is only a shame unless we become the "best" customers of other countries. Our military is abusive.We don't take care of all the poor and sick,we all know how dangerous evangelical or conservative christians are,shame for not silenicing or getting rid of those dangerous segments.We know what homphobes those that oppose gay marriage are. Those in the US that work and sacrifice,take the risk to begin and maintain a successful business can only do so by oppressing the employee.Except of course if you are Hollywood or any of the mega rich liberal. The US troops in so many other countries are there to support the American empire which translates into prosperity for the American people. Troops in the mid east is about securing oil supplies for US domestic consumption, correct? By all means let's use our own resources,many of us are in favor of that.Let the mid-east bomb itself into oblivion. Or better yet let them all go back to riding camels. They would be better off without the evil american empire.It would be interesting to see how fast the oil producers of the mid-east would stand and cheer at the thought the americans would no longer want their oil. Bring our troops home and line the borders. Shoot to kill or wound all those that are foolish enough to want to come across and take part in all the ill-gotten gains. I doubt as many would die that way. That's right, it's a duck.” Surely the same could be said of Morsi, who is acting and sounding like a dictator, and of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is behaving like an extremist group bent on an Islamist state. As Netanyahu pointed out in that speech, Israel doesn’t have the luxury of giving terror organizations or dictators the benefit of the doubt. History has proven the high cost of doing so. For Israel, the lone democracy in the Middle East, eyeing these sweeping changes in Egypt with a fair amount of skepticism isn’t pessimistic. It’s practical. It’s self-preservation.
