Woody Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 then why do we fail? Because it is His tool to teach us. Failure breeds success. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Gibs Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Why do we fail it is ask. Because we try of ourselves to do it. We are nothing without Him in our weakened condition. But if we will put on Christ, "Christ in you the Hope of Glory", then it is possible for sure to be the victor. He is our power over all obstacles. The price is full and complete surrender of self and pride and will. Broken on Him and He then is Master of our soul temple. 1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Woody Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Gibs - it does not always work even after you ask. I can verify that. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Members phkrause Posted August 12, 2012 Members Posted August 12, 2012 then why do we fail? Great question Gerry. Could it be because we don't really trust? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

When I am successful, God does it. But when I fail, I alone am doing it? Just like when things are going well, God is blessing. When things are going bad, God is not blessing? And if God knows I can't handle the test alone, why did He permit it? Quote

So God does the hard work for us for the good stuff, and the Devil is to blame for all the bad. A couple thoughts come to mind. First where is the self accountability? As I see it that is one of the biggest things wrong with the world today. No-one wants to be accountable for their actions. Criminals are criminals because their parents did not love them enough, addicts are addicts cause life has treated them so bad.... on and on it goes. Second, you say Because we try of ourselves to do it. We are nothing without Him in our weakened condition.. That sounds really good on the surface but within it lies some problems. How is a person to learn, grow stronger, become better if it is being done for them? If I do my sons math homework for him does he get better at math? Will he learn to figure those equations out? Doge Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 then why do we fail? I believe is because we choose not to endure. Recovering dug addicts, alcoholics, a sinner from deep sin etc etc ...are testaments to the fact that God will not allow us to fall if we didn't want to, we choose evil over good. I have often thought about this, why is it that evil is tempting, if its bad then why are we attracted to it? why was i fooled by evil if i knew better or was wiser then maybe i would have not sinned, then i think unless i was as wise as God there will be always something on the other side. The answer to these is God has given us the power of will no different then physical strength and the choice to use them, and the devil the power to tempt us and make no mistake his power is real, everytime we flirt with sin we really have no full comprehension of what we're doing. Administrators Gail Posted August 12, 2012 Administrators Posted August 12, 2012 Good answers and a very good question! "Failing," is different when one is walking with God then when one isn't, don't you find? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
