olger Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I touched on this verse in a wedding that I officiated on Sunday. I like how God speaks separately to men & women in this passage, as He does in Ephesians five, and Colossians three. A few points derived from this passage: I appealed to the groom to be patient with his wife. Dwell with her according to knowledge means that he is to let her in to each area of his life. Don't shut her out, as we men can do easily. She will feel rejected if you do that. To the wife, I appealed to her to submit her spirit to a relationship with her husband. Be willing to be one with him. Cultivate inner beauty and the feminine virtues that God finds valuable. Giving honor to the wife as unto the weaker vessel. Honor means dignity. Always keep the dignity in your relationship. Discuss sensitive issues in private - not in public. Give each other the gift of listening - that's a neat thing. Don't tell others things that you haven't told each other first. "Weaker" vessel. I told them that means that we are both weak, one more than the other. With the Lord in the marriage, He is the Strength that we need. A husband & wife walking in oneness is a special thing. endquote What would our church look like if the marriages in it were of this kind? The Advent message would break forth with renewed power - you couldn't hold it back. Evangelical feminism is an empty substitute for the oneness that I am describing - trying to fill a divine void with human effort. G Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

Evangelical feminism is an empty substitute for the oneness that I am describing - trying to fill a divine void with human effort. I believe that's right. Quote
