A friend of mine thought I would find this interesting....

*******************************************************************

Something caught my eye on this past Thursday when I went down to are local municipal building to pay my electric bill here in Lawrenceburg. As I was paying the bill with the clerks at the the desk there was a lady that was walking to the door just a few feet from the desk and she held her right wrist with palm facing the reader and held it there for a few seconds and the door openned up. The reader its self was like a vertical card reader but I didn't see her swip a card or even have a card in her hand. So the only solution is either a biometric reader or she had an implantable chip of some kind. I'll keep an eye on it when I pay next months bill. Just odd though never thought that it would come here to South East Indiana so quickly.

It is interesting. I seriously doubt she'd had an implant put in to enter a municipal building, however. Maybe she had a chip in her hand, like the Speedpass I have on my key ring.

I asked my friend further about this last night... she had just shaken hands with someone else... there couldn't have been anything in her hand.

This is not the first time I have heard something that seems to indicate chips are being used to verify identity in restricted access buildings.
