Amelia Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Student's Mural Of Castle In The Sky Deemed Too Religious NAPA, Calif. 05-23-2005 WCHS-TV8 A Christian student is changing his mural of a castle in the clouds after classmates at his California high school complained that it looked too much like heaven. The mural outside Napa High School's art room is the work of Kyle Trudelle, a senior who brings a Bible to school and shares the gospel with his fellow students. Two of them started a petition to stop Trudelle from completing his mural, which shows a path leading to a castle in the sky. Trudelle said there wasn't a cross in the mural, but he agreed to change it rather than offend anyone. Now, the path will lead to a sunspot and the castle will be moored to the ground. There weren't any objections to an adjacent mural which includes an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The petitioners said that image was one of many in a mural about Hispanic heritage. Nicodema Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Now that's just wrong. I don't agree with this kind of peer-pressure censorship any more than I would agree with its opposite. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
wicklunds Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Exactly what happens even in "religious" circles. These kids all probably come from "religous" homes and know at least something about God. What a shame they probably don't have enough of a background in the Bible to have a Biblical world view. Even then, appreciating the soon coming of Jesus is, for them I fear, not a possibility...yet...There is hope in Jesus Christ.
