juan felipe Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 hello, well this is for anyone who can read this and be able to help me, belong in a church of about 100 people and we're not having a good time, there are no major objections to 100%, there is zero interest in the members to participate or take positions, we must revive the church, perhaps one has experience and can give me some advice. happy Saturday Quote
LifeHiscost Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Quote: perhaps one has experience and can give me some advice. While it might not bring instantaneous changes, it has always helped me to spend a lot of my mind's effort in talking with God about what He would like me to do about a situation that I felt needed attention, and then waiting expectantly for an answer that I was convicted was His answer for my responsibility in seeing it take place. Sorry I can't offer more help. "Silver and gold (money) I do not have; but what I do have, that I give to you: in [the use of] the name of Jesus Christ.... Gordon1 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Hi Juan Felipé, If you start a Bible study class you will attract interested members, maybe fresh blood as well. Let the group select the subject, then use the week to prepare. After six days of study, you will be prepared to guide the class, along with others who have done their homework. Ideally everyone will have studied, and there will be a rich exchange of Bible research. If you are motivated, you can make copies of your study to hand out to the class. This can be as simple as a list of Bible verses. One could choose any topic or word in the Bible: Angels, tithe, repentance, forgiveness, etc. At the end of the class, the group decides on a topic for the following week. God has promised that His word will not return unto Him void.(Isaiah 55:11) Only a small number may be interested, that's ok. It will grow if you water it; God supplies the increase. If you can find a good Bible concordance such as Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, this will greatly help your study. Bible studies can be held anywhere. Jesus said that where two or three are gathered together in His name, He is in their midst. (Matthew 18:20) Quote

Moderators LynnDel Posted August 28, 2012 Moderators Posted August 28, 2012 I heard a story about a dead church. The new pastor didn't know what to do to wake them up, so he got together with his elders and prayed. They promised to pray intensely, an hour every day for a month, that God would show them how to wake up their dead church members. On the very last day of their promised prayer vigil, God showed them a way to reach their community for Him, and today that church is alive, with active members. I think that prayer like this is the answer. LynnDel Quote LD
Gordon1 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Hi Juan Felipé, those who are awake are the real leaders, whatever their title. Quote
