Moderators lazarus Posted August 28, 2012 Moderators Posted August 28, 2012 Let me put it this way: I have received several calls at my church from anti-gay marriage groups affiliated with the GOP asking for the support of my church. I have never received a call from any group asking for support against divorce. There is a provision for divorce only because of the hardness of the heart. If folks are driven to oppose gay marriage because they want to honor the Bible then they should be driven to oppose divorce , at least when it is un-Biblical. The greatest threat to marriage in the US is not really gay marriage, it is straight divorce. This is really another topic though. Perhaps the drive for gay marriage is "because of the hardness of the heart". Being opposed to gay marriage is not because gay marriage threatens my marriage.
