Dr. Shane Posted May 25, 2005 Author Posted May 25, 2005 You know what I don't find surprising? Those that obey God are happier and more positive. "Happy is that people, whose God is the Lord" Psalm 144:15 "He that keepeth the law, happy is he" Prob. 29:18 The devil tempts us and says, do this or do that and you will be happy. Yet study after study, experience after experience shows that God is right. Happy is that people whose God is the Lord. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Nicodema Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Well, sin brings misery, so of course those who do the least of it are going to be the happiest people. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
Clio Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Hmmm... Not sure I agree with that statement... I think if people are "not doing sin" due Christian "culture" (kinda like "cultural Adventists") then they might even be more miserable caught between two masters. Now those who have a love relationship with Jesus will be walking out this obedience from a heart of love and a desire to please Him... and so will find themselves rewarded and blessed... still maybe not happy but rewarded and blessed. I say still maybe not happy because even with a loving relationship with Jesus... there have been rough patches when the term 'happy' could not be applied to my emotional state for a very long time. Tears were my lot and portion... but I was rewarded and blessed. clio Quote A heart where He alone has first place.
