Morning Glory Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 You must be referring to Celcius (sp) as neither 29 or 32 sounds very warm to me!!! It has been in the 60's (F) where I live for the past couple of days, with more of the same forecasted. Michelle Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 It's been in the high 20s to low 30s recently, but has been raining so more like around 29. (yeah, that's C--29C is around 84F and 32C is almost 90F). I think 30 is 86. Why doesn't the US just make the jump to C?! M Quote

I don't need to make a conversion. But, if we were to change, I'd have to convert all my recipes and my thinking. Too much trouble. Besides, if I really need to convert, I could just google it, and the answer will appear without much effort. Nah. Unless... Unless we also convert our time to base-10 units. No wonder my friends were reluctant to move out there--sounds like Phoenix, AZ! Now, the question is, is it dry heat? (as in, sure it's 42, but it's dry!) The difference is the 32 here is accompanied by 95% humidity--hey, I'm from Colorado, where 45% is REALLY HIGH humidity! If it gets above 50%, people start wilting. However, when I look at the temps from around the world and see where I COULD HAVE BEEN LIVING (Bangkok, routinely 10 degrees hotter than Hong Kong) I am SO THANKFUL for my 30! (and incredibly thankful that I live in an era of a/c!) M Quote

Hot is when your springtime temperatures are 135 degrees (F) warmer than your winter temperatures were.... and it's not even summer yet! We're melting here in Alaska! It's been in the upper 60's (F) for the entire week, and Sabbath it's supposed to be 75(F)! I don't have a thing cool enough to wear to church that's modest too... By the time we get to 75(F) it's going to be 140 degrees warmer than it was on my front porch this winter... and it's going to be 95 degrees (F) warmer than when I started not wearing a coat and going bare foot again... clio Quote A heart where He alone has first place.

For instance, I can comfortably endure temperatures up to 30 degrees Celcius. Clio Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 Erhm... We're not done yet Bravus... It's still early spring here. I expect to hit 90 this summer... for a total temperature range of... this year (it was pretty warm this winter) of -60 to 90.... or a 150 (f) degree range... since December... hehehe. I put my winter coat up when we started hitting -10 consistently... I started going barefoot... including outside in the snow at consistently 10 above... granted just out to the car and back and on the front porch and to the green house... And shorts came out when we got to consistently 40 above... You see a lot of shorts, sandals, short sleeve shirts... and coats... at between 32 and 42 (F) above here... Alaska! I love it here! I have all my windows open and fans going. BUT all the smokers in the complex are out on their decks puffing away.
