What Will We Do For Him?

Most know what He has done for us that we might be saved, now should question ourselves "what will we do for Him?"

How about His Will for us, will we do it all gladly?

" John was a teacher of holiness, and in his letters to the church he laid down unerring rules for the conduct of Christians. "Every man that hath this hope in him," he wrote, "purifieth himself, even as He is pure." "He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 3:3; 2:6. "This is the will of God," the apostle Paul wrote, "even your sanctification." 1 Thessalonians 4:3. The sanctification of the church is God's object in all His dealings with His people. He has chosen them from eternity, that they might be holy. He gave His Son to die for them, that they might be sanctified through obedience to the truth, divested of all the littleness of self. From them He requires a personal work, a personal surrender. God can be honored by those who profess to believe in Him, only as they are conformed to His image and controlled by His Spirit. Then, as witnesses for the Saviour, they may make known what divine grace has done for them. AA 559.3}

Well He said it, and don't you suppose He expects us to, IF we care to do as He Wills of us?

Does he want us to continue in sin, the very thing He hate? I think not! You know something! If He was going to save us in sin He would not have needed to come and died for us in our place. He sure did that our slate would be clean and made it so we too could have the Divine Nature in us to then not continue in sin once our slate was cleaned when we came and fully repented.

We have no excuse to continue in sin! If any have a VALID excuse let it be known to us. Who do we love the most? Him to whom we obey of course. We cannot serve God and Satan as that is not acceptable!

Ro 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Ro 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Ro 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Ro 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Ro 6:20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Sister White speaks,

"Care should be taken to keep constantly before the mind the fact that we are dependent on God, and that we owe him willing obedience, a life-time of loving service. The true object of education is to fit us for this service by developing and bringing into active exercise every faculty that we possess. Satan desires to defeat this object. He is the great enemy of God, and it is his constant aim to lead souls away from their allegiance to the King of Heaven. He would have minds so trained that men and women will exert their influence on the side of error and moral corruption, instead of using their talents in the service of God." {ST, March 20, 1884 par. 2}

We are not left powerless,

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

We are sure going through the "mill" in this life and what will we make of it?

Here you are with your variances and differences. Now, "Come to Me," says He, "and learn of Me." Nine-tenths of all our trouble comes from our esteeming ourselves too highly. But just as soon as we begin to look and see how many virtues we can find in others with whom we associate, then we will not be so ready to see their defects, and we will dwell upon the good in their character in place of their faults. In doing this, we bind them closer to our hearts by the firm cords of love. {1SAT 43.1}

We must have a transformation, a makeover into a new creature not of self. Our fallen nature subdued by His indwelling Divine Nature, Him now being the Master of all we do and think and follow Him only as the only safe guide. His Will is our will and His Love is our love.

He has made of us an overcomer He must have of us to be in His Kingdom. He wants all who will come and begs us and woes us with His Love!

No, He doesn't expect us to produce something we don't have, i.e., agape love. You have to read all the Bible, not just those selected texts that you perverted into "He expects us" to keep the law.

Here's what He states:

John 15:3 You are already clean [perfect] because of the word which I have spoken to you.

4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. ... 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

A] Realize that "in Christ" you already stand perfectly righteous (perfect, clean). This is what saves now and in the judgment.

B] You can't produce agape love. Jesus says, "without Me you can't do anything (anything good, that is)."

C] Then and only then, does He say "keep my commandments". What commandments according to the context?

Commandment 1] Remain in Me

Commandment 2] I'll produce fruit in you so that you can experience agape towards your neighbors.

We owe Him our willing obedience and more. We owe Him our all. We owe Him all of our love first and foremost and when we sin we prove we don't. You have proved you love your sin more when you fall away from Him and commit your favorite sin. It's one like a neighbor of mine used to say, "how can anything so good be bad?". Just because it seems good to one still in the carnal nature sees it good don't mean a thing. It is disobedience to the most High!

None can avoid understanding what is said Here by John,

Do you see in whom the love of God is perfected? Many talk love but prove they don't have it. We can fool men but never for a moment our God and Saviour.

But Robert, just to give us one verse to prove it is given to us in disobedience don't get it,

"Abide in Me" and "I in you", and then He explains unless you do you do not bear fruit. He is your hope of salvation. He was speaking to them to show them He is.

A little further down as He continues He tells them and us!

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Do you see to abide in Him what is required?

It takes full surrender, nothing witheld, fallen, crushed on Him to be the Master in you whick alone is your only hope of Glory.

All I will tell you is to continue in sin as you claim you have too tells me you don't want to overcome them. Any and all can and I've given you plenty of Bible and SOP evidence that He has made the way for you to do so. He leads to water but don't force us to drink His Way, we must choose too.

He will not take away anyone's sin that wants to continue in it and not do a thing on their own part. He does not remove the bent to sin from you without you accomplishing it now in this life. Today while it is the day of Salvation is the only time there will be.

He who sins is under the law and is condemned by it. If salvation was as you advocate then the great majority of Christians in all the churches would be saved. Jesus tells you different, it is only the few that find the way and walk in it.

For me Robert, I take my stand with His Word and the SOP and that don't jibe with what you advocate at all.

Perfection through our own good works we can never attain. The soul who sees Jesus by faith, repudiates his own righteousness. He sees himself as incomplete, his repentance insufficient, his strongest faith but feebleness, his most costly sacrifice as meager (i.e., denial of self), and he sinks in humility at the foot of the cross. That is our goal, and we are to be in this our sphere as He is in His.

We can please Him as Jesus did as one of us in this sphere. He cleans our slate, gives us of His Spirit and a new heart and when He dwells within we can walk as He did.

We do not win this battle alone, but we don't even have to try it alone, He is ready and willing and WANTS to work in each and everyone of us.

Perhaps Ellen White is spiritualizing Matt 5:48, I don't know, but I know this the text doesn't hint at what she states - i.e., "we may be as perfect in our sphere as God is in His sphere". She speaking of degrees of righteousness.

Well, the text doesn't hint at that view. Let's read it:

Therefore you shall be perfect, (how perfect?) just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

There are no spheres here...no degrees of righteousness. You are not be as righteous as God. That's very plain.

This is speaking of the truth as it is "in Christ". In Christ (and He is in heaven) you have a glorified humanity free from all traces of sin.

Are all thing become new for you? Are you a new creature? No, if you have accepted Christ your heart/mind has been regenerated, but your humanity is still indwelt by sin. You still have a humanity that is mortal. So all things haven't become new for you personally. You need to watch the context.

I am an altogether different person than many years ago when I became converted to Him. Yes the old man is passed away.

All things that pertain to salvation are new yes but we do not put on the new glorious body here.

I am in Christ and He is in me and so I am a new creature in the here and now and that is what Paul is speaking of and not as you are saying.

No, that's a lie. That's the heresy of the holy flesh doctrine. You still retain your old self. You still have a nature that is bent to self. The difference, if you are a believer, is that your mind is in harmony with God, but your flesh isn't. So you have two forces in you - the law of my mind and the law of sin.

You see you are not to look upon that scantily dressed pretty woman and lust for her. Oh sure they know, those kind how to dress to be as alluring as they can. Many make their living that way. Rich jezebels abound today.

We live on a sphere, the one that fell to Satan to sin and corruption. This is the only one that has. All sinners are here on this little, in comparison to most out there, sphere.

We are to be perfect here as He expects and His Spirit guides us on that, He let's you know even before you are about to sin, to surrender it and do His Will and it isn't hard for the mind and heart is decided to do His Will as we know He knows best.

He knows our weakness and knows the mind and heartset as to our bent to continue in sin. He knows if we have come to hate sin and we must. We must hate sin enough we would shun it as a plague.

We must love Him above all, He is first and best in our hearts and pleasing Him we love to do.

The arch deceiver has a greater percentage under his thumb today than any time in history from what I can see and many would agree but not all I know.

Yes His great gift to us is first He gave His life that we would be pardoned for our sins at repentance and coming to Him, and then He gives Himself further by dwelling in us that we might walk as He did victorious.
