bonnie Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Rioting For Art's Sake Ethel C. Fenig OK, peaceful New York area Christians. In spite of the Constitution of the United States you now have official permission to riot. And to do everything that goes along with rioting including destroying private property, burning anything and everything, screaming and...maybe even killing. And President Barack Obama (D) and his frienemy, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton (D) and oh so many liberals will approve--maybe even join you in sympathy. Piss Christ, "a photograph of the crucifix submerged in the artist's urine" that the New York Post delicately labeled "controversial" will be going on display at a New York art gallery. The gallery is anticipating violent Christian mob protesters as "security is being heavily ramped-up at the gallery that will show the piece." While offended peaceful Christians are rioting, Clinton, of course, will beg for calm while calling Piss Christ "a deplorable work of art" because the US "respects all faiths." However she won't be able to state, as she did with that other piece of art, "Innocence of Muslims," that the US government had nothing to do with it. The artist, Andres Serrano, received a $15,000 award for his piece in 1989, funded partially by the taxpayer supported National Endowment for the Arts. According to the misunderstood artist the situation around NEA funding that "Piss Christ" ignited "never got better . . . the budget of the NEA was slashed in half. There seems to be a sort of dislike for the arts, and for the government supporting the arts. It's not right." Awwww. Wrong Mr. Serrano. While you have every right in this country to do what you call art that offends the sensibilities of millions--including many non Christians such as myself--and not be bothered, you are not entitled to be supported by the people you offend. Or other taxpayers. Hmmmm. So, as a taxpayer offended by the cavalier use of my money confiscated from me to support an offensive work I think I have a right to join in the riots sure to ensue when this tax subsidized work is displayed. I'm sure Serrano, along with Obama, Clinton and all the other liberals will agree. Guest Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 The whole thing is amazing to me. How muslim extremism is apologized for, but it's open season on anything Christian. When it comes to offending muslims our gov't now apologizes for us having free speech in this country. But will uphold anybody who thinks Christianity should be scorned, mocked, derided, and attacked as though it were evil. With taxpayer money no less! About the only thing left is to take "In God We Trust" off the money. Quote

Will the FBI hunt down the so -called artist and take him in for voluntary questioning? Maybe our president and Secretary of State will spend thousands of dollars on a campaign ad reassuring everyone how despicable they find the degradation of any religion,You think? More dangerous at the moment is the threat to our freedom of speech. Look at what the muslim countries want to put into law. Look at Obama's refusual to call a terrorist attack just that, yet spends time and money reassuring muslims that they somehow have a right to demand they not be offended Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
