bonnie Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Yes,I know that there are those that will be voting for Obama for "free stuff".Others have to pick up the cost but as long as there are those that want to live off others he is the man to vote for. Sickening when you think this is the important issue in this country to some with everything that is going on. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Because of banks my husband and I purchased 14 homes during our marriage. At times banks made it possible for us to purchase much needed vehicles. This woman and people like her contribute very little or nothing. She looks able bodied, try working Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Clearly your value system is twisted. You're ok with corporate welfare of billions of dollars but have a problem with $49.99 welfare. These "businesses" are bankrupt but you feel they should get government handouts. Why do they get something they didn't pay for? Perverse. These "businesses" are bankrupt but you feel they should get government handouts. Why do they get something they didn't pay for? Perverse. I never said I was alright with corporate welfare. I am not the one that was/is in faor of bailing out any business bank, auto,or energy If they cannot make it,the business should go under. I am not against banks making money however. Because the banks got bailout money, does not give anyone the moral right to say "Now give me" You notice this woman is not going to vote for Obama because of all the "jobs" he created,or the trillions of dollars in debt. She is voting for him becayse she is a leech on society,as all are that expect/demand the taxpayer fund their needs.Value system? Those that want or support the taking from one to give to another that is not working and doing all they can to take care of themselves is immoral Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Moderators lazarus Posted September 28, 2012 Moderators Posted September 28, 2012 Banks are getting $40B a month now! Ben B announced the fed will be buying mortgage backed securities every month for the foreseeable future. You missed that because it's not one of the red team's talking points. Sorry, but you missed the point Bonnie was making. And quit blaming everything you disagree with as the other side's talking points. Quote
Moderators lazarus Posted September 28, 2012 Moderators Posted September 28, 2012 What is it you don't understand, past of present tense, bailouts or what amounts to bailouts should not be happening. Suppose 100,000 receive a $50 cell phone = $5m In one month the government buys $40B in mortgage backed securities. Drudge will highlight the first because it fits a particular narrative. Drudge will pay little attention to another because it's ok to have rich people get richer to on the back of the government but poor people cannot. Again it's perverse. If you can get away from repeating the red team talking points then you see that. Your attention is being diverted away from the real fraud that is taking place in the world. These two situations are not comparable. Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. bonnie Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Where do “Obama phones” come from? September 27, 2012 | 2:25 pm The video of an Obama supporter bragging about having an “Obama phone” has gone viral on the web, but where do these “free cell phones” come from? The program is called Lifeline, established in 1984, originally created to subsidize landline phone service for low income Americans, funded by government-collected telecommunication fees, paid by consumers. In 2008, the program was expanded to support cell phones which quickly escalated the cost of the program. In 2008 the program cost $772 million, but by 2011 it cost $1.6 billion. A 2011 audit found that 269,000 wireless Lifeline subscribers were receiving free phones and monthly service from two or more carriers. Several websites have been created to promote “free” government cell phones, including the”The Obama Cell Phone” website at Obamaphone.net. Rep. Tim Griffin R-Ark. has proposed a bill to eliminate federal subsidies for free cell phones and has produced a great YouTube video highlighting the runaway cost of the program. The program has also been highlighted for reform by Senator Claire McCaskill D-Mo. Pressure to reform the program led the FCC to announce an effort in February to “reduce the potential for fraud while cutting red tape for consumers and providers” by the end of 2013. bonnie Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Only in the recent past has poverty become a "elevated status" someone that thinks what others earn should rightly be given to them just because they take up breathing space on this earth. Poverty is something that untold millions have dealt with using a degree of self respect. The "poor" receive more freebies than ever and demand more and more and then more. While I don't believe we should have QE3 at least banks provide a service. Those on the "give me train" don't except to do what they can to keep a man like Obama in the WhiteHouse so they can keep on getting more and more freebies at the expense of taxpayers.
