bonnie Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 October 1, 2012 Is Barack Obama a Compulsive Liar? By Steve McCann Barack Obama has lied about the terrorist attack on the American Consulate in Libya for over 15 days, even going so far as to overtly imply that this attack was prompted by an obscure internet movie trailer in his speech at the United Nations two weeks after it was confirmed the White House knew it was an Al Qaeda sponsored attack. Additionally, during the current campaign the lies and obfuscations about Mitt Romney and the Republicans have been so fast and furious that it is nearly impossible to keep up with them. The administration's reaction to what went on in Libya is not a surprise, as reliance on prevarications and the attendant dishonesty is part and parcel of Obama's normal behavior. There rarely has been a speech or an off the cuff comment since he entered the national stage that does not contain some deliberate or insinuated falsehood. This tendency is exemplified in his recent interview with Univision wherein Obama lied about why he never introduced immigration reform and when the ill-fated Fast and Furious program was raised, he began blaming the Republicans and George Bush respectively. There is now a near universal mistrust of Obama among world leaders as well as many members of Congress who candidly admit they cannot deal with Barack Obama, as he has proven himself to be untrustworthy and unbelievable -- particularly as he refuses to accept any responsibility for the outcome of his actions and policies. The diminished status of the United States around the globe and the greatly eroded standard of living for the vast majority of Americans are testament to these character flaws. At times even the most diehard of his sycophants in the mainstream media are forced to report on this disturbing trait in their hero. This past spring the Washington Post ran a lengthy front page article on Obama's machinations during the debt ceiling debate. The highlight of the piece: Barack Obama deliberately lied to the American people concerning the intransigence of the Republicans in the House of Representatives. It was an amazing admission for a pillar of the sycophantic mainstream media to write a story claiming that their hero lied. A further example of the media's awakening to the deceit and fabrications of the Obama administration is the recent reporting on the Libyan scandal which is actively pursuing the lies and cover-up. However, there has been five years of outright lies and narcissism that have been largely ignored by the media, including some in the conservative press and political class who are loath to call Mr. Obama what he is in the bluntest of terms: a liar and a fraud. That he relies on his skin color to intimidate, either outright or by insinuation, those who oppose his agenda only adds to his audacity. It is apparent that he has gotten away with his character flaws his entire life, aided and abetted by the sycophants around him; thus he is who he is and cannot change. In an earlier column I asked the question is Barack Obama a compulsive liar or a sociopath? (h) A Sociopath: A sociopath is typically defined as someone who lies incessantly to get their way and does so with little concern for others. A sociopath is often goal-oriented (i.e., lying is focused--it is done to get one's way). Sociopaths have little regard or respect for the rights and feelings of others. Sociopaths are often charming and charismatic, but they use their talented social skills in manipulative and self-centered ways. A compulsive liar: A compulsive liar is defined as someone who lies out of habit. Lying is their normal and reflexive way of responding to questions. Compulsive liars bend the truth about everything, large and small. For a compulsive liar, telling the truth is very awkward and uncomfortable while lying feels right. Compulsive lying is usually developed in early childhood, due to being placed in an environment where lying was necessary. While Barack Obama exhibits traits from both categories, it is becoming increasingly clear that he is primarily a compulsive liar. How else to explain the lies and obfuscations that so easily come forth regardless of whom he may be talking to or the subject matter. His sociopathic skills come to the fore in his ability to manipulate others to join him in his these prevarications, or to exploit the celebrity culture that has overwhelmed a deliberately ill-educated American society. In the United States there is great deference paid to the occupant of the White House. Justifiably so, as that person is the chief operating officer of the country, but more importantly he or she is the head of state representing the nation around the globe. The President's actions and demeanor set the tone for not only the political class but the country as a whole. Over the centuries there have been many exceptional but also a few inept men to hold the office of President. Today so much power is vested in the Office of President that honor and integrity must be a hallmark of a president's character. It is not with Barack Obama; he is perhaps the most dishonest and disingenuous occupant of the oval office in history, and has the potential to do more long-term damage to the United States than all his predecessor combined. His failings can no longer be excused by this historical deference or timidity fostered by race with the euphemisms of spin or politics as usual being used to avoid the truth. It is extraordinarily difficult to run against someone such as Barack Obama -- a stranger to truth and integrity willing to do anything to win -- but Mitt Romney must do so by candidly admitting who he is dealing with. While the future of the country depends on dramatically altering the economic and governing landscape, it cannot do so unless the opposition politicians and average citizens recognize and forcefully challenge the lies and machinations of Barack Obama and his allies without fear of what may be said about them or to them by either the Obama machine or their sycophants in the media. bonnie Posted October 1, 2012 Author Posted October 1, 2012 Did GWB know about 911? As far I have heard George Bush is not president and is not running again.Isn't it about time, hoping to soon go into his second term Obama pulls up his big boy pants and tries to wear them. As for the past presidency of George Bush, there were many things I disagreed with him on.Bush had been president for only 8 months prior to the attack. Most people understand that something of this planning and magnitude began prior to the beginning of his presidency. There were warnings but specific enough? As the past presidency of President Clinton, a real slime ball morally the planning had to have been happening on his watch. He did bomb a aspirin factory tho. Had Clinton removed Bin Laden when he had a chance would we have had 9/11?Doesn't matter he didn't and we did. Had warnings not been ignored or shared within the proper agencies could we have avoided 9/11? I don't know. It was a bit different than a specific target and embassy occurring on the anniversary of 9/11.Ambassador Stevens knew he was personally at great risk. Obama has blamed once again instead of focusing on the cowardly depots that did this.He kept right on blaming and still did just recently instead of directing the blame where it belongs. That wouldn't sound to much like he has taken care of the terrorists tho would it. As they were proud to announce while trashing the embassy in Egypt ."We Are All Osama,Obama" Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Seems he forgot. And then there is this, again following the path of the one he blames for all his mistakes Continuing Bush Era Policies In 2008, the Supreme Court ruled that detainees at Guatanamo Bay were due habeas corpus rights. Three months after the Supreme Court's ruling, four Afghan citizens being detained at Bagram tried to challenge their detentions in U.S. District Court in Washington. After Barack Obama took office, a federal judge in Washington gave the new administration a month to decide whether it wanted to stand by Bush's legal argument. In a two sentence response, the Obama administration sided with the Bush administration in declaring that those detained in Iraq and Afghanistan had no right to habeas corpus. There is no daylight between the GOP and the DEMs when it comes to foreign policy. They are both hypocritical and tyrannical. Obama's greatest failure is to continue the oppressive Bush era policies. Why is Bush even part of this discussion? He is not running, remember.Whatever Bush did or didn't do is over. Obama was the one that was referred to as almost a God. Maybe Obama should have been a bit more oppressive as far as Libya and Egypt go as in providing increased security as long as we had a embassy there. Maybe Obama should not have been so eager to grovel to Islam over that silly film, which more and more they are having to admit was not the cause. bonnie Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 I had quite a discussion with a democrat running for the MN senate yesterday. He,like you of course was a ardent Obama supporter. After his main thrust of why I should vote for him it turned to an attack on Bush. He blamed Bush for the housing debacle which was mainly responsible for the economic mess. When he was reminded of where that began and who it was begun by,he started waffling and said,Well, both parties were to blame. When I asked him why he initially blamed Bush he changed the subject to education and the need for more funding and to defeat the anti-union supporters. We ran thru that and then went on to how hard people have to work today to make ends meet.Even both spouses working 12 hours a day. When I reminded him that many of us and those before us have done the same without government handouts and hardship was not a new invention of the last decade "He said people shouldn't have to do that"? Wonder why. When all else failed he went back to Bush,a man not running and informed me he was a blue dog democrat and a personal friend of John McCain when he lived in AZ as if that should be impressive. John McCain was a watered down democrat dressed as a conservative.Only marginally better than the failed Obama. I will suggest the same thing to you as I did to him. This is about the failed presidency of Obama and the possibility we will have another 4 failed years if not worse. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Moderators lazarus Posted October 5, 2012 Moderators Posted October 5, 2012 Again you are caught in the short term-ism that keeps the cycle going. Neil D Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Summary To the strains of Kid Rock’s “Born Free,” Mitt Romney took to the stage at a minor league baseball park in Nashua, N.H., on Sept. 7 flanked by his wife, Ann, and delivered a standard — albeit slightly longer — version of his stump speech. But unless you were at Holman Stadium that day, saw it on the local TV news or read about it the next day in the Union Leader, you probably didn’t hear anything about it. That’s true of most stump speeches. While the Nashua stump speech was very much a local event, presidential candidates tend to deliver very similar versions of the same speech over and over as they make their long-form pitch to audiences around the country. We [factcheck.org] found numerous instances of candidate spin in what Romney had to say. For example: Romney says Obama “said by now [unemployment] would be down to 5.4 percent.” But Romney is referring to a speculative report issued at the beginning of Obama’s presidency containing projections — not promises. Those projections relied on prevailing economic models that quickly proved to have underestimated the depths of the recession at that time. Romney says median family income dropped $5,000 under Obama. That’s an exaggeration. The true loss of inflation-adjusted, median family income was $3,290 during Obama’s first three years. Romney’s figure is based on a report that covers a period that includes 13 months before Obama took office. Romney says health insurance premiums have gone up $2,500 under Obama. The actual increase has been $1,700, most of which was absorbed by employers and only a small part of which is attributable to the health care law. Romney blames Obama for the cost of gasoline doubling, but that’s misleading. Gasoline prices happened to be unusually low when Obama took office due to the recession and financial crisis. Romney cited a Chamber of Commerce survey as evidence that small-business owners are less likely to hire because of the health care law. But experts warn not to place too much weight on the survey because it was an opt-in, online survey. Romney said Obama “cut Medicare by $716 billion to pay for Obamacare,” but these cuts in the future growth of spending prolong the life of the Medicare trust fund, stretching the program’s finances out longer than they would last otherwise. Romney said the health care law is “killing jobs in small business.” But CBO says the law would have a “small” impact on jobs, mainly affecting the amount of labor workers choose to supply. Those getting subsidies, for instance, might work less hours since they’re paying less for health care. Romney said he would bring health care costs down by “finally deal[ing] with malpractice costs,” but experts say medical malpractice doesn’t make much of a dent in health care spending. There are other misleading claims — including bluster on the Keystone XL pipeline and a claim that Obama has lived up to a “promise” about “skyrocketing” energy costs. And, of course, no Romney speech is complete without a reference to Obama’s comment, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that,” a quote that has been lifted out of context. The actual increase has been $1,700, most of which was absorbed by employers and only a small part of which is attributable to the health care law. The Facts: Not so, concerning premiums. Obama is mixing overall health care spending, which has been growing at historically low levels, and health insurance premiums, which have continued to rise faster than wages and overall economic growth. Premiums for job-based family coverage have risen by nearly $2,400 since 2009 when Obama took office, according to the nonpartisan Kaiser Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make.
