I'm glad to see you're pointing out that Americans need to control their government and make sure the federal government in particular is kept accountable to them. That's not what I'm pointing pointing out. Americans now have no real control of their government. Banks and corporate interests have control over the government. Eisenhower said beware of the military industrial complex. They are in control now. American's barely know what their government really does let alone control it. It seems more like you are here in the US to point out all that is wrong with America and to educate those poor americans that don't know anything of their history. Unlike your demands/expectations that the US be perfect most of us know that that wrongs have been committed,some with the best of intentions and at times those that have been in leadership have their own personal agenda as we have at present.Some with the mistaken/selfish idea that certain people were expendable and the knowledge would justify the means. In the scheme of things the US is still a relatively young country,as it was settled it was done so by individuals that came from pretty despicable places. Their prejudices were brought with them.Altho I doubt if it will get a whole lot older as a country,it will never be the perfect place with perfect people. You may know of such a utopia,most of us don't believe there is one. You will of course still continue to concentrate and dig up any and all things wrong. You will never run out as you would not in any country that would accept you. Until such a time where our freedoms are denied most of us will continue to try to make our own little corner of this imperfect place better. Still mazes me why we have such a immigration problem. The nature of other western governments isn't something I can do anything about. I can't change anything by being disturbed that this happened in the way it did in this country if so. When I read history many things that were done disturb me,so what? If it were happening now it would disturb me more as many of the things that go on do. Being bothered by a story like that does not have the ability to change what happened. I am far more disturbed by the governments that bury women up to their necks and stone them,forbid them an education etc as it is a past and current situation. I am disturbed by those governments that want to dictate our freedom of speech,that loot ,burn and kill. I also understand any government will do and has done many things that are wrong,hardly just western governments. I know that the US government has committed wrongs,you certainly do not have a monopoly on that information. Many more wrongs will be committed as time goes on,maybe you have a solution to the sins of the US. I am disturbed by the fact that so many take,take and take again from those they see as having more than they. I am disturbed by the amount of money that could and should go to those unable to help themselves but does not, instead goes to those that think they should be immune to hardship and hard work. So what.I can't stop my neighbor from leeching off the taxpayer because he can. I can't stop any western government or any other from committing the wrong acts they do. You would like me to do what about all the above besides being disturbed. But I do appreciate the good things about the US and the good they have done,altho I have yet to see you acknowledge one.The US at some point in the near future will deny my freedoms as every country,every government on earth,until then I will appreciate what I have. Democrats have been taught to be mad at the GOP. Your hopes are now in Romney not realizing that his policies are not substantially different from Obamas. Both parties are on the same trajectory. Meanwhile the public do not pay attention to issues like the topic of this thread becasue it does not fit into the left right paradigm. The spraying of poor folks in St Louis is a glimpse. Most people don't want to take a long heard look at what the governments have done and are doing. It serves their purpose for you to hate Obama and others to hate Romney. They are both bough and sold and give the illusion of difference. Which party has ever really bough down taxes. Which party has ever really cut spending. Even Reagan increased the size of government. Which party has every really made the streets safe. Demographics and other social factors did that.
