This is to be a thread of the views of Sister White you may find to define about the Gospel

Please do not insert your views but it is ok to make a sentence or two about what she brings out in what you found.

I will start with this,

" Many who claim to believe and to teach the gospel . . . set aside the Old Testament Scriptures, of which Christ declared, "They are they which testify of me." John 5:39. In rejecting the Old, they virtually reject the New; for both are parts of an inseparable whole. No man can rightly present the law of God without the gospel, or the gospel without the law. The law is the gospel embodied, and the gospel is the law unfolded. The law is the root, the gospel is the fragrant blossom and fruit which it bears. {FLB 88.7}

He who proclaimed the law from Sinai, and delivered to Moses the precepts of the ritual law, is the same that spoke the sermon on the mount. . . .The teacher is the same in both dispensations. God's claims are the same. The principles of His government are the same. For all proceed from Him "with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." {FLB 88.8}

The gospel of the New Testament is not the Old Testament standard lowered to meet the sinner and save him in his sins. God requires of all His subjects obedience, entire obedience to all His commandments.

Sharp, critical self-examination is needed. Worldly principles are not to be woven into the web and made a part of the fabric. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 7}

So close is the union between Christ and the Father that as men treat Christ so they treat the Father. The greater the light and evidence God has given men regarding His character and will, the greater will be their guilt and condemnation if they do not love and obey Him. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 8}

"If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfil ye My joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 9}

The gospel inculcates universal humility and benevolence. It produces the virtues of Christ's character in all who savingly accept it. Christ made the sacrifice of Himself to furnish man with grace and power. All who receive His spirit become sons of God, one with Christ in God. Those who attain to eternal life must overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. In order to be saved men must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling, revealing a faith which works by love and purifies the soul. Love for God and man has been enjoined upon every human being. God works by His Holy Spirit in those who believe in Christ as their personal Saviour. He helps them to work out their own salvation, giving them grace for the grace which they impart to others. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 10}

The ministers of God, by the holy example they set, are constituted messengers of righteousness, and they should receive love and respect from those who co-operate with them. Let him who cherishes a spirit which leads him to accuse his fellow-workers, who are proclaiming the message the Lord has given them, beware, for he is treading on holy ground, and might better take his shoes from off his feet. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 11}

God chooses his agents, and gives each an individual trial. He allows His workers to be tempted; thus He proves them to see whether they are building on the right foundation, whether they are doing what they know Christ would do under similar circumstances. Those whose lips are sanctified will utter no witticism or sarcasms to hurt the Lord's purchased possession. Men and women are the Lord's heritage, and no man on the face of the earth has the shadow of a right to oppress those whom God has redeemed. Christ shed His blood to make it possible for them to be partakers of the divine nature. Human beings are very dear to God's heart of love, and when He makes up His jewels He will gather to Himself those who love Him and believe in Him. In that great day when every case is settled forever, He will spare them as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. His chosen ones, who appreciate the value of redemption, will live through all eternity with Him whom they have served faithfully on this earth.

Mrs. E. G. White. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 12}

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

... Men and women are the Lord's heritage, and no man on the face of the earth has the shadow of a right to oppress those whom God has redeemed...

Mrs. E. G. White. {GH, August 1, 1900 par. 12}

Scriptures teach that Adam & Eve and all their descendants were all redeemed by the blood of Christ. Is it not oppression when Christian preachers teach Christian exclusivity?

A slice more,

"(Matthew 4:4; 6:63). No Sword Before Our Tree of Life.--The Scriptures, "It is written," is the gospel we are to preach. No flaming sword is placed before this tree of life. All who will may partake of it. There is no power that can prohibit any soul from taking of the fruit of this tree of life. All may eat and live forever (Letter 20, 1900). {1BC 1086.5}

(Hebrews 1:3.) A Perfect Specimen of Sinless Humanity.--In Christ is gathered all the glory of the Father. In Him is all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He is the brightness of the Father's glory, and the express image of His person. The glory of the attributes of God are expressed in His character. The gospel is glorious because it is made up of His righteousness. It is Christ unfolded, and Christ is the gospel embodied. Every page of the New Testament Scriptures shines with His light. Every text is a diamond, touched and irradiated by the divine rays. {7BC 907.3}

A tid bit,

"The world today is in crying need of a revelation of Christ Jesus in the person of His saints. God desires that His people shall stand before the world a holy people. Why? Because there is a world to be saved by the light of gospel truth; and as the message of truth that is to call men out of darkness into God's marvelous light is given by the church, the lives of its members, sanctified by the Spirit of truth, are to bear witness to the verity of the messages proclaimed. . . . {HP 313.4}

The world is in need of a demonstration of practical Christianity. In view of the fact that those who claim to be followers of Christ are a spectacle to an unbelieving world, it behooves them to make sure that they are in right relation to God. . . . In order to stand as lights in the world, they need to have the clear light of the Sun of Righteousness constantly shining upon them. . . . {HP 313.5}

When God's people so fully separate themselves from evil that He can let the light of heaven rest upon them in rich measure, and shine forth from them to the world, then there will be fulfilled more fully than it has ever been fulfilled in the past the prophecy of Isaiah, . . . "The Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. . . . The abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, and the force of the Gentiles shall come unto thee" (Isaiah 60:3-5). {HP 313.6}

When the truth of the Gospel is received, I find the following is realized. By Sister White to J E White,

" It is not enough merely to acknowledge Christ. We must follow where He leads the way. His grace is sufficient. He suffered for us, and He has left us an example, that we should follow . . . . The present is our time of proving. The experience necessary in order to gain the crown of life will bring us far greater crucifixion of self than we have hitherto thought possible. What is the message that the apostle Paul bears to everyone who names the name of Christ? "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds" (Hebrews 12:1-3). {UL 134.2}

Christ was the Lord of heaven and earth, yet for our sake He became poor, that we through His poverty might be made rich. He was made in the likeness of God, yet He humbled Himself, and took upon Him the form of a servant, that He might save us. He gave His life for our redemption. Will we accept the sacrifice? The only begotten Son of God was numbered with the transgressors, that human beings might not perish, but have everlasting life. Life eternal will be their inheritance, if they will consent to humble their proud heart and become partakers of His suffering. He patiently endured shame and mockery and derision that He might save every sinful human being who would lay hold of Him by living faith. While He hung on the cross, giving His life for our redemption, His murderers mocked Him, saying, "He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him" (Matthew 27:42). . . . He could have refused thus to die, but He was suffering that the world through Him might be redeemed from Satan's claim and authority. Through His death all who believe in Him may have eternal life. . . . {UL 134.3}

The salvation of human beings means much more than many realize. It means that we are to choose God's way rather than our own. The Lord cannot save men while they refuse to humble themselves under the reproofs and warnings that He sends, strenuously asserting their own will, and following their own course of action.--Letter 133, April 30, 1905, to J. E. White. {UL 134.4}

Where did Sister White get such wisdom having only a 3'rd grade education of this world. Proves something to me! That God can train up any better than men.

He, Yahweh, Yahshua/Jesus only are the fountain and foundation for TRUE wisdom and understanding.

>>Sister White's See...<<

As authority lies with the "See", it acts and speaks for the whole.

Iconolatry.

A servant of God and no icon and not worshipped and more may hate her than will receive her as one sent of God. jasd, I only present her writings as she brings out thoughts clearly from scripture. She told all that where they find she does not agree with scripture you are to believe the scripture.

Her "see" is above the men of today of all I know of. Let me know of any equal or better I beg of you or any.

The 144,000 are no doubt nearly sealed or are awaiting the outpouring of His Spirit and these are special ones.

Blessings to all who read and study His Words to us.

Do not think that, because we have a glimmer of the light of God, that we have it all.--Ms. 3, 1889, pp. 1-3. (Morning Talk at Ottawa, Kansas, May 14, 1889.)

The question has been asked me, "Do you think that the Lord has any more light for us as a people?" I answer that He has light that is new to us, and yet it is precious old light that is to shine forth from the Word of truth [the Bible]. We have only the glimmerings of the rays of the light that is yet to come to us. [1SM 401]

We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. [CW 37]

“A spirit of pharisaism has been coming in upon the people who claim to believe the truth for these last days. They are self-satisfied. They have said, ‘We have the truth. There is no more light for the people of God.’ But we are not safe when we take a position that we will not accept anything else than that upon which we have settled as truth. We should take the Bible, and investigate it closely for ourselves. We should dig in the mine of God's word for truth. ‘Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.’ Some have asked me if I thought there was any more light for the people of God. Our minds have become so narrow that we do not seem to understand that the Lord has a mighty work to do for us. Increasing light is to shine upon us; for ‘the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.’ --Review and Herald, June 18, 1889. CW 34, 35

Perhaps, Gd is even now speaking through those less published, less commercialized, less involved in monetizing His 'words' (to His prophets?)

Robert she spoke a lot about the "new" light you would spread!

jasd, The ones God is speaking to at present are hated for their testimony. We will soon see the 144,000 with as much or more power than at Pentecost. Their message will be hated. You see it is from Jesus Christ and Jesus said,

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

You see the message of truth the world don't want, the lie is received though with enthusiasm.

So you see Sister White's see of the gospel message is hated today.

Hated is a strong term; sometimes charged to forestall criticism. What I noted was:

Quote:
Quote:jasd

Iconolatry.

It is inappropriate to characterize Sister White, her activities, or her writings as a “See”.

It is made a brazen nachash upon a pole, as it were…, a Nehushtan, an icon.

Posted

Her see is her understanding and when she stated "I was shown" or " I saw" it was far more than her see and of course then it was her see too. jasd ya make a great play on words.

But I'm not sure how you see her yet. Yes her message of the gospel is hated today because she makes it clear the gospel and the law are inseparable. And yes they are. I am hated for the same reason.

1Jo 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Lot's of verses on that tenure, right here just of 1John 1,2,3,4 and 5.

Sister White, Jesus and the Bible are not legalists as I am accussed of because I expound the Truth.

When we truly love Him and the Truth which He is we keep the commandments naturally with the desire of our hearts.

1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

1Jo 4:4 ¶ Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

You see See as I do not see See. See is definitively as I see See and supposedly not as you see See. So, See in your eyes is not as See is in mine.

Tha's okay.

There are truths and there are absolute truths. Absolute truths, though remaining absolute, are yet perceived differently.

You use a Gregorian calendar and see that the Seventh-day Sabbath of the OT is as the Jews keep it. Fact is, the Seventh-day Sabbath of today's Jews are derived from a facsimile calendar only approximating the OT calendar, as admittedly, it is lost and cannot be duplicated with today's knowledge.

The .Org sought to determine the veracity of the keeping of present day Seventh-day Sabbath, but prematurely shut down the committee doing the study - and shut away its results, as it was leading away from accepted hypotheses...

One is required to act upon his or her conscience and ought not be disparaged for it; hence, Seventh-day Sabbath keepers and Sunday keepers are both right before Gd.

Should you carefully study Writ, you will find that I am correct in allowing a categorized leniency to the Sunday worshipper, as well, the Seventh-day worshipper.

It is found by astronomy that our Saturday is the seventh day, these things are written in the heavens.

Besides the keeping of the true Sabbath of Yahweh has never been lost, there has always been a people keeping it.

Besides history proves men changed it to Sunday but in actuality in their book only as it cannot and never will be changed.

The Sabbath is kept in Heaven and we are in sync according to Enoch.

Metaphysical? :) Tha's okay, as you wish. However, you keep the same seven-day cycle as do the Jews - and they admit that the Hillel II calendar (ca AD 400) they follow could only approximate the OT Calendar and such approximation..., by copying the Babylonian/Greek Metonic cycle. (beware, lest ye be given over to the Greeks...)

They admit such fact by conceding the impossibility of aligning their calendrical 'postponements' with those of the OT.

You see, the OT calendar did align somewhat with a seven-day cycle, however, it did not follow a strict seven-day cycle as we know it - but rather, determinations as set forth by their priests.

>>Besides the keeping of the true Sabbath of Yahweh has never been lost...<<

See what I mean about absolute truths being perceived differently?

Sorry I went further off topic in my responses than may have been desirable. Will desist.

None need to worry on this question, The LORD God has always had His faithful on earth and His Spirit in them and the Sabbath has not been lost.

Be Blessed and tabernacle with Him and the Angels in Heaven this Holy day, a festive day to be in fellowship with Him and all His Saints by Spirit.
