BRASELTON, Ga. — Myrtle Ellen Fortner, 93, of Braselton, formerly of Happy, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel in Canyon, Texas, with Don Fortner, Dale Tunnell and Dale Ray Tunnell, pastors, officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery in Happy. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon.

Mrs. Fortner was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hereford, Texas, and a member of Arney Community Club in Happy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice D. Fortner, in 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Pastor Don Fortner and wife Joyce of Marvell Ark., and Dr. Gary Fortner and wife Gail of Claremore, Okla.; a daughter, Bernita Tunnell and husband Pastor Dale of Braselton; a brother, Wayne Elliston and wife Joelle of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Ivagene Elliston of Hereford and Evelyn Fitzpatrick and husband Eddie of Albuquerque, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include Bobby Tunnell, Dusty Tunnell, Nickolas Tunnell, James Fortner, Shad Fortner and Pastor Dale Ray Tunnell. Honorary pallbearers include Kenneth Calhoun, John Ramirez, Bryan Potts and Stephen Hager.

The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Seventh-day Adventist Church Outreach Ministries.
