WHEN is your name written there?

One of the big questions, I suspect it was put there in my past, and if I endure until the end it shall stay there.

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

It is the book sealed with seven seals, none read what is inside untill the final seventh seal is taken off. As each seal has been taken off Jesus reveals a little of what was written. Then finally here is where that seal is taken off and then the book or scroll can be opened and all can be read what is inside.

Re 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The seal before this last one was # 6 - - Re 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

But look what happens when the seventh is taken off,

Re 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Why? Great awe I would surmise from the perfect foreknowledge of the Lamb.

He knew the outcome of all from the beginning, He knew our substance and long before in the womb. Not only Omniscient but Omnipotent and Omnipresent as He is Spirit and He is in the total of His Creation which is endless. How Great is He? We can have no comprehension !

Since God knows all things - past, present, and future, I'm guessing my name was written in the book of life before the foundation of the earth.

Woody & JoeMo, how do you reconcile that thought that your name was written in Lamb's book life with these texts:

1. When born into this world, we "...were by nature children of wrath," Eph 2:3, therefore destined to death.

2. ESV | ‎Jn 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

3. ESV | ‎1 Jn 5:12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

So, it seems clear from these verses that we do not possess eternal life until we have a relationship with Christ. How then can anyone's name be written in the Book of Life?

I can know that my name was written in the Lamb's book of life before I was born because God knows everything. I DO have a relationship with Jesus Christ; and He knew before I knew it. Or do you think God doesn't know the End from the Beginning?

I do believe that God knows from eternity who will be saved or lost, but Joe, Jesus and the Bible also speaks of names that are blotted out. Therefore those names in the Book of Life are not just the ones that God knew from eternity will be saved.

What I am trying to reconcile is the idea that our names are written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, [Rev 13:8; 17:8], with the Jn 5:24 & 1 Jn 5:12. The names that are NOW written in the Book of Life CANNOT be the final list of the saved because some, if not many, are blotted out. It is only AFTER the judgment that the Book of Life will have the final list of those who are truly saved.

Something to be realized here is this book is not opened until the last seal is taken off. The blotting out was done before the seals were put on. Only the Lamb who wrote is worthy to take them off. That last seal proves it hasn't been opened since He wrote it and now He and only He is found worthy.

When He does and the contents revealed, silence in Heaven!

So It appears to me He knew all who would live from the beginning and named all, then He blots out all the names He sees will not come to His proffered salvation.

I think there is a reason for this and that is to show His perfect foreknowledge that all will see none need ever question the righteous, justice and foreknowledge of God. I don't think there is any near setting on the fence but that should prevent any from ever coming close to that point.

You must see that if He had been opening it and doing things in it since it was written and sealed it wouldn't prove what He wanted to prove would it?

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Ac 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
