Administrators Gail Posted October 18, 2012 Administrators Posted October 18, 2012 Ever have one of these games? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Woody Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Yes Gail - I had them. Cooties are STILL alive. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted October 20, 2012 Administrators Posted October 20, 2012 Yep. I enjoyed building my cootie with the parts in the wrong places. Moderators Bravus Posted October 20, 2012 Moderators Posted October 20, 2012 I *do* (though I'm pretty sure it was called something different here). And I'd forgotten - thanks for the memories! Quote Truth is important

Neil D Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Well, when we were children, it was interesting that we got cooties from the opposite sex... ...now that I am an adult, I wouldn't mind getting cooties from the opposite sex..... and when it came to building those cooties that Gail showed, [sigh] I never got that 'game'...had to go to my friends or cousin's house to play that...Even grandma never had that in the toy chest....[sigh]..... Liz Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 I remember that game!!!! When I was a very little girl, I had a friend tell me not to play with a certain boy because he had "cooties", I had no idea what a cootie was, so I asked her, she wisely informed me it was little bugs. Later in the year, we had a lice outbreak in the school, I did not get them, but several of the boys did, and they came to school with their heads shaved. My little wise friend said "see? bad cooties", so all us little girls associated lice with cooties. Administrators Gail Posted December 5, 2012 Author Administrators Posted December 5, 2012 They are still around, but not in the same form. Much more "safe for children." I hear ya- just look at all those parts that can be swallowed by children under the age of 3!! I don't know how we ever survived! When I was growing up I never knew anything about people having little bugs on them. I was sheltered from that information. The cootie bugs were just a fun game. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
JoeMo Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 LOL, Gail! You must have led a sheltered childhood. I always thought one of the universal rites of passage in childhood was realizing in or after puberty that the opposite gender didn't actually have cooties (or, alternatively, that they weren't radioactive)!
