Ruth Katherine Darnell, 92, Napa Valley

Ruth Katherine Darnell died Oct. 16, 2012. She was born and raised in North Dakota. She moved to Vallejo in the 1930s. Ruth trained as a registered nurse at St. Helena Hospital, and worked there for 40 years before retiring in 1982. Mrs. Darnell was involved with Elmhaven Seventh-day Adventist Church and community service. She enjoyed camping and fishing.

Mrs. Darnell is survived by her daughters, Lorena (Harlen) Miller of Deer Park, Calif., and Shirley (Bruce) Allen of Roseville, Calif.; sister, Edna Rue of Washington; grandchildren, Tom, Tim, Teri and Sean; and seven great-grandchildren.
