TomKat - what do you think?

Tom Cruise is nuts for Katie Holmes

What do you think? I have a definite opinion - but please, no comments about how worldly you think I am - and I think that this is a genuine article. There are some critics and blogs that think this is phony PR stuff, but I have felt like Tom has before about someone, so I know a person can go there.

I think at this point it's probably still infatuation, but with a little time and maturity it could grow into love.

Michelle - it really doesn't matter that much, but does everything have to be so deep and meaningful? Sometimes something frivolous (as long as it's not malicious) can be fun!

Dear person,

Tom Cruise is now on relationship number ??. This is like asking Mrs. Gray if she would be happy to have had a series of relationships with people like Rock Stewart, Reginald Buckley, Henry Kissenger, and Jonathan Alexander. Of course, this would have been wonderful each and every time, but ultimately Mrs. Gray would have ended up alone and bitter, not unlike our friend Elizabeth Taylor or Hubert Hephner.

The test of true love comes in a lifetime together, not just a few moments with each person. That is why Mrs. Gray is very happy with her husband, Mr. Mrs. Gray even though he is not as handsome as Woodrow Horley.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gray

Dearest Mrs. Gray,

Might you mean Hubert Hefner?

I think this thread is fun. Probably because I've always liked Tom Cruise. He's a perfect double for my son.

I've only seen one of his movies (the one with Renee Zellweger). So it's not his acting that attracts me. Just his looks....

Not his lifestyle or religion--definitely not. I hear he's a Scientologist. That's very bad.

By the way, how old is Tom C? Doesn't his age tell us something?

Bravus--I am the first to argue for good fun. Just wondering why this particular relationship is even important? I don't remember seeing many (any?) other celebrity couples being discussed--just curious why with this one. Perhaps because I'm not in North America right now and not seeing this splattered all over the place, but I've always wondered why celebrities' love lives are important to anyone outside their families, that's all. confused.gif

He is 42. Katie is 26.

I think it is fine to care about how celebrities do, as long as it is in the context of what they share publically. Notice I said care, not obsess. They are people for whom Christ died, and it is appropriate to wish them well and to be happy for them.

Oi, I'm just about of an age with Tom, though nowhere near as pretty. Does my age tell us something? I know *I'm* certainly not chasing any 26 year olds, but that's because I have an uber-hot 41 year old chasing me. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

When the engagement was announced, I wasn't surprised. When I saw them on Oprah a couple or three weeks back, you could tell that there was something special there.

I hope they have a forever marriage and he always feels the same way about her, and she about him.

About the whole 'Free Katie' thing... why isn't there a similar concern for 'Free Ashton'... referring to Ashton Kutcher (age 27) and his girlfriend Demi Moore (age 42)???
