What does the Bible tell you about honour?

It says our mouth should be filled with laughter, we speak with shouts of joy and we declare the great things that the Lord has done for us.

It also tells that to have a joyful heart is good medicine. A sad spirit dries up the bones.

And, I know He has a sense of humor ... He created me

What does the Bible tell you about honour?

That word has different meanings slightly on who is being honoued and for what reason and the Greek states close to the same as the Hebrew, stated some different.

Here is a few examples,

Re 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

Honour here is,

doxa dox'-ah

from the base of 1380; glory (as very apparent), in a wide application (literal or figurative, objective or subjective):--dignity, glory(-ious), honour, praise, worship.

Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

Pr 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:

Joh 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Honour used here is,

timao tim-ah'-o

from 5093; to prize, i.e. fix a valuation upon; by implication, to revere:--honour, value.

An Old testament, “honour”, as in, honour thy father and mother.

kabad kaw-bad'

or kabed {kaw-bade'}; a primitive root; to be heavy, i.e. in a bad sense (burdensome, severe, dull) or in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable; causatively, to make weighty (in the same two senses):--abounding with, more grievously afflict, boast, be chargeable, X be dim, glorify, be (make) glorious (things), glory, (very) great, be grievous, harden, be (make) heavy, be heavier, lay heavily, (bring to, come to, do, get, be had in) honour (self), (be) honourable (man), lade, X more be laid, make self many, nobles, prevail, promote (to honour), be rich, be (go) sore, stop.

When to our God, I would say it is to give Him the glory, praise, worship, addoration, our love and obedience.
