bevin Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050531/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush George Bush never fails to provide laughs. First he defends indefinite prison without trial by rubbishing concerns about the American Gulag "It's absurd. It's an absurd allegation. The United States is a country that promotes freedom around the world" Then he attacks Russia because Quote: Bush did not comment directly on the verdict, but said, "it looked like he had been judged guilty prior to having a fair trial." But, hey, at least the man GOT a trial - unlike the hundreds the American's are holding without trial. /Bevin Quote
Amelia Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 I found this statement to be quite hilarious. </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr /> Bush said he believed that the organization had wrongly relied on the allegations of people being detained who "hate America, people that had been trained in some cases to disassemble -- that means not tell the truth." <hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
NormF Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I'm trying to remember how he said it. GWB does, after all, have a way with words ... I heard the sound bite and don't remember any bells going off in my head at the time. Which leads me to think he actually got the word right in this case - dissemble, rather than disassemble. A minor remarkableness in itself. Of course, there are those who think things in D.C. aren't what they're claimed to be. And those who think that in Gitmo they should be coming apart.
