We have been slowly and surely getting away from the principals below since LBJ. Whether republican or democrat

please don't drag up sins of the past and there is plenty to go around.The repudiation of this has been on a fast track to oblivion.A little more slowly at first with Bush and then the downhill run with Obama

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by destroying men's initiative and independence.

And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

What I find truly amazing and I probably shouldn't is no one can address this and tell me where it is wrong.

In the other forum a poster did his best to turn it into a discussion about helping the poor.
