nuff sed Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I was tooling along on the way home from feeding the homeless and heard the Sean Hannity Show with some female substituting while he was away. There was someone explaining the work of an organization I never heard of. Please go to www.troopsdirect.com, find out what they are all about, and put them on your Christmas list for a donation. We shouldn't Have to but our troops deserve all the help that we can give. Happy Thanksgiving..............Nuff Sed Quote
Moderators Gerr Posted November 22, 2012 Moderators Posted November 22, 2012 I can't find this charity on the list of CharityWatch. How long has it been in existence? For many years, I used to give to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Then I saw in the news that the founder was keeping 80% of the donations for himself or his family members who were on the payroll also who were in various capacities as officers. Only 20% went to the veterans. I have not given a dime to this particular charity since then. Here is a list of charities for veterans that are highly rated by CharityWatch which was formerly known as American institute of Philanthropy. VETERANS & MILITARY GRADE Armed Services YMCA of the USA A Fisher House Foundation A+ Homes For Our Troops A Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund A Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America A National Military Family Association A Operation Homefront – N.O. A Semper Fi Fund / Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund A+ The only charity that I give to with less than an A- rating is World Vision which has a B+, and ADRA even though for some reason it's not even on the radar screen of CharityWatch.
