Moderators Bravus Posted December 21, 2012 Author Moderators Posted December 21, 2012 The WSJ has a strong agenda... and the Matt Ridley piece takes the word of one person who is not a climate scientist against the whole body of climate science evidence. If one actively seeks out untruth, one will always find it. Quote Truth is important
CoAspen Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Could not find any research that had been done by Mr. Lewis. He certainly has the right to his opinion but to quote him in a manner that suggests His opinions outweigh the research being done and peer reviewed is not the best way to deny that climate changes are real. cardw Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Science is not a process of voting on an opinion. Penn and Teller do a great bit on this fallacy. They cast ballots on the gender of a rabbit sitting on a table between them. What they are demonstrating is that the gender of the rabbit is not a matter of opinion. It is a matter of observation and evidence. In the piece trying to debunk global warming the author couldn't even tell the difference between water vapor and clouds. In addition the author's family leases land for coal mining in northern England. It is so sad that over half our population is trapped in an ideology that is immune to reason, because even a general understanding of the scientific method would debunk these climate deniers.
