Robert Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Does the medical community have any data related to health as connected to the consumption of meats such as pork, shrimp, catfish and other scavengers? Quote
Robert Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 I found this! Here's the Doctor's conclusion: "I would simply recommend you consider avoiding pork altogether, even organic pasture-raised versions, in favor of healthier and safer protein sources, like organic grass-fed beef, lamb, bison and chicken." Robert Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 Here's another: "...did you know The Center for Disease Control stated that well over 100 virus come from China to the Unites States each year through pigs! In fact, majority of flu viruses that we encounter come from the lungs of pigs. Also, pigs foster many other toxins that are concealed with diseases and contain worms. Pork is the main source of taenia solium tapeworm. This kind of bacteria spreads throught the body and goes undetected for years! The bacteria takes nutrients from our cells and encourage inflammation and decline within all tissues. This helps to make an enviornment within our bodies, contributory to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, acid reflux, fatigue and depression. If this isn't enough to make you stop eating pork, let me leave you with one last fact: A retrovirus lives in all pork cells and this viruses lives through the heat that we cook in! so we eat our tasty meat ,and guess what goes inside our body? You got it, a retrovirus! Ok, I've poked fun in this article a little, but please understand the seriousness intended of eating pork. Honestly, it causes many problems with our human body and the headaches that are often associated with eating pork is just one, that we should pay attention to as a warning sign of a food/meat not good for you." Moderators Bravus Posted December 8, 2012 Moderators Posted December 8, 2012 There's also the issue of 'bio-magnification': as there are more toxic pollutants in the environment, eating vegetables means we'll get some. Eating first order consumers - cows, sheep, in fact everything with cloven hooves - means getting more of them, since each kilo of beef requires something like 7 kilos of vegetable matter... and contains 7 times as much of the concentrated toxins. The ratio is the same or higher at each step, so eating second order consumers might have as much as 50 or more times the concentration of toxins. The ladders don't get much longer than that on land, but sharks, for example, can be fourth or higher order consumers. (side note: kangaroos are first order consumers and good to eat but don't have cloven hooves. Unsurprisingly, the Leviticus laws don't really mention them) Quote Truth is important
Moderators Bravus Posted December 8, 2012 Moderators Posted December 8, 2012 Oysters do tend to bioaccumulate because they filter a lot of water, prawns/shrimp not so much. Quote Truth is important
