Administrators Gail Posted December 18, 2012 Administrators Posted December 18, 2012 For my reading right now I'm going through Louis Were's booklet, Christ is the Center. It is discussing righteousness by faith as found in the OLD Testament. Zeroed in is Joel 2: Quote: 32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. Sound familiar? That is because it is quoted in Romans 10:13. The NT is good for showing that the Lord whose name is being called upon is Jesus (if you want I can provide references). But the idea that WHOSOEVER calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved is the concept. Joel is great for showing how God comes through for his people in the end. "Out of Zion and out of Jerusalem" is how it is put in the Old Testament, which in the New after the rejection of Jesus by the Jews becomes the church. Amen, anybody? Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted December 18, 2012 Author Administrators Posted December 18, 2012 GAIL in MAL Chap 3 verse 6 For I am the LORD I do not change in HEB Chap 13 verse 8 JESUS is the same yesterday, today, and forever so then HIS plan of salvation---or how people are saved will not change Good catch, Doug! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Windsor Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 The title of this thread is suspiciously similar to "They had the gospel, too". Quote Remember Adventists Online?

Yes, good reason for that! :) Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
