Woody Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 For me it has always been the saw or the Marimbas. One of these days. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

M. T. Cross Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Banjo is cool. I saw a little mini banjo a couple weeks ago, it was pretty neat. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted December 22, 2012 Moderators Posted December 22, 2012 I'd love to learn the cello. Took a few tentative steps toward it a while ago, but a very demanding job and a quantum physics hobby keep me pretty busy... and I've just acquired a minor golf addiction as well. Quote Truth is important
Woody Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Golf is good Bravus. And the game does require and instrument in hand. lol Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 That should read: Golf is good Bravus. And the game does require an instrument in hand. lol But the edit option is not working. Narcah Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I play piano and guitar with some harmonica thrown in for good measure. I'd love to learn the saxophone, I actually own one, but it's HARD! Quote -Jason Youtube.com/narcah
cricket Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I would like to be trained to sing properly. Quote
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted December 22, 2012 Administrators Posted December 22, 2012 Since I play none, I would be delighted to be able to play any musical instrument. It's hard to decide but I think classical guitar tops the list. Trumpet or saxophone would come up next. The harmonica would be great since you can get so much out of an instrument you can stick in your pocket. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." Neil D Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I'm trying to make the time to learn, but my fingers hurt so much after playing that I stop for a few days....need to keep "hurting" thru the pain and continue playing my guitar... Hey, I'm one step closer to achieving my goal....Here is comes, wait for it.....wait for it.... where are you at? heheheheheh Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Moderators Gerr Posted December 22, 2012 Moderators Posted December 22, 2012 I started piano in November last year. I'm still at it. But the instrument I REALLY want to play is the saxophone. Quote

Members phkrause Posted December 22, 2012 Members Posted December 22, 2012 I play piano and guitar with some harmonica thrown in for good measure. I'd love to learn the saxophone, I actually own one, but it's HARD! I love hearing the Sax, that's what in my opinion made the Dave Clark Five. When I started formal training with a private teacher I wanted to learn classical guitar. We hit on all the basics of it and then he steered me towards jazz. That was a great experience as it really taught me how to improvise nicely. Quote

Administrators Gail Posted December 23, 2012 Administrators Posted December 23, 2012 If I had a chance I would like to try a violin, or an early instrument since Early music is my favourite Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

JoeMo Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I play clarinet, keyboard and guitar. My favorite is guitar; probably because its the most portable and versatile. If I picked up another instrument, it would likely be the flute or the sax. I am intimidated by fretless stringed instruments; and really admire those who play them well and seemingly effortlessly. The fiddle player for Celtic Woman and Lindsey Sterling amaze me. Quote
Woody Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 It would be feckless of me to play something fretless. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators LynnDel Posted December 24, 2012 Moderators Posted December 24, 2012 My Facebook friends know that I am going to learn the hammered dulcimer, an ancient instrument, the forerunner of the piano. I would love to have lessons, but I can't find a teacher, so I have started learning on my own. My instrument arrives Friday. If you want to know how one sounds, look up hammered dulcimer on Youtube. Ted Yoder is my current favorite HD player. Related instruments are the santur (Jacob Armen) and the cimbalom (Oszkár ÖKRÖS) -- names of accomplished musicians are given for you to find quickly on Youtube. See to believe! My goal is to be able to accompany the praise team at church. We already have a piano, keyboard, flute, and sometimes a guitar, so I would just add myself to the mix and, I hope, not have to go on the platform to do it. LD Quote LD
