Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 27, 2012 Moderators Posted December 27, 2012 KHBA Celebrates 20 Years He’s Alive Broadcasting (KHBA), the 20-year-old Christian television station in Spokane, Wash., held a gala dinner with a record turnout on Nov. 11, 2012. Dan Matthews and Linda Shelton hosted the dinner, which kicked off a two-evening Sharathon. These events raised more than $39,000 towards the station’s yearly operating costs. Matthews and Shelton also shared confirming stories that KHBA is on the move. Thanks to a Catholic gentleman in Kalispell, Mont., the Hope TV signal from KHBA’s channel 39.1 is heading to Flathead County, Mont. With a population of 90,000, this valley holds a potential for sharing hope in Jesus with many new friends. Making new contacts throughout North America is a new ingredient in the mix for KHBA. The board voted to ask Shelton to be the development director for He’s Alive Television. Shelton has a background in broadcasting and fundraising and says, “I am excited to partner with KHBA to help strengthen and advance their ministry.” Moving forward with a production vehicle has begun. A van was purchased and will be equipped for regional remote productions. The KHBA production van will facilitate A live feed where there is high-speed Internet access. “We estimate it will cost $25,000 to $30,000 to put the equipment together,” says Joe Stanfill, station manager. “We are grateful to our founder, Marlo Fralick, for his financial assistance to begin this project.” KHBA unveiled exciting new programming during the Sharathon. These shows include Travel With Spirit, a travel show with a noticeable Christian angle; Babbie’s House, a music and talk show; Mark Gungor, a show on “love, marriage and stinking thinking” that gives viewers a frank, humorous marriage counseling approach; Dare to Love, about how to make friends of Muslim neighbors and be a positive witness; and Friends and Neighbors, with Christian women discussing current issues, similar to The View. Time slots for these programs are available at KHBATV.com. The KHBA board is pursuing ways to introduce Spokane’s secular population to Jesus. “We don’t need to travel the world to find a mission field,” says Stanfill. “We have thousands of people throughout Spokane who need to hear and see a witness for Jesus. This is what drives me and our volunteers to sacrifice time, money and energy.” KHBA is the only local Christian broadcaster in Spokane bringing light to a community the needs to know Jesus. Viewers can watch at UHF Channel 39 or via the Internet at KHBATV.COM. Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted December 27, 2012 Moderators Posted December 27, 2012 That's wonderful! I knew Linda Shelton would bounce back eventually! Gregory, do you know that Mr. [Pastor?] Fralick who's mentioned in this article? There used to be a Fralick who labored in the Mountain View Conference many years ago; my parents worked with him back there. Do you know if this person might be related? Johann Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Linda Shelton has been fully vindicated by the North American Division Quote

Woody Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 How did the NAD do that? I don't know how a process like that happens. Yeah. There must be a secret society that performs that function Stan. Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 28, 2012 Author Moderators Posted December 28, 2012 Jeannieb43: I have no idea. I do not know the person. Quote Gregory
Moderators Gregory Matthews Posted December 28, 2012 Author Moderators Posted December 28, 2012 Linda fully vindicated: That statement could be argued. I do not know that the denomination ever fully vindicates someone. There is a process by which one who has been disfellowshiped can appeal. But, that process never formally states that it was wrongly done. That best that comes out of that process is that the person is cleared to immediately join another congregation by profession of faith or by membership transfer, which is a more involved process. The second is rarely done as it is more complcated. Any vindication of Linda is informal rather than formal. It rests in what one can observe from the process: she immediately joined another congregation, denominational officials have not stood in the way of her employment in ministry as they have done in other cases, Church leaders of promenance are willing to be associated with her--Dan Matthews, she is formally emplyed in ministry. Why wasn't Linda employed earlier? Issues are often complicated. Obstacles can exist that are not related to the charge that she faced related to her husband. It can take time for these obstacles to be resolved. My assumption is that any obstacles that may have existed are no longer considered to be a major issue. In any case we can rejoice that this recent change for Linda. Quote Gregory
Woody Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 In some cases - it's not the 'person' who is vindicated. But rather it is US who are vindicated from our judgmental spirit. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Woody Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Who is Linda Shelton? Do we really want to open up that can of worms? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

The whole topic begs the question. Arnie, Linda Shelton is a very nice lady who was part of a husband/wife religious broadcasting team. The marriage ended up on the rocks several years ago, and we are now happy to learn that Linda is back at a new job, doing something she loves. Funny, isn't it, how we accept Grace for ourselves and demand justice for others?
