Nich Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Greetings, I am interested in this subject especially now, considering what the Islamic world has and is going through, and the persecution that Christians are getting from Islam. http://www.persecution.org/ Quote Trust and obey, Happy in Jesus

Administrators Gail Posted January 2, 2013 Administrators Posted January 2, 2013 Nich, while I don't remember ever seeing the word "Islam" in the Bible, there is a lot about the "children of the East". Research Esau and his descendants as well as Ishmael and his descendants. I think you could probably add Abraham's children by Keturah. If you were to do a Bible search on, "east," you would find information about people from the East, which is where Israel's family went that was not of the line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
OzarkWoman Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 In Revelation there are scriptures that mention that some of Christ's people will be beheaded. Quote
Textus Receptus Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 The bible would not mention Islam by name as it is very much newer religon. Though the bible does not mention Christianity or the old testement, the quran is encrusted with OT and some Christian text. Nonetheless, Islam very much has incorporated pagan and gnostics beliefs -- so in its basic element the bible does to some extent, but not by name. Furthermore, if you believe that throughout antiquity, there have always been 2 classess of people in relgion, (excluding the true Christian religion), the initiated and the uninitiated. As such, like in Catholisim, only a few understand that Catholicism is the old worship of Baal. It has been theorized by some scholars that at the top of Islam, they share the same religon of sun worship to that of the Catholic Church; the most notable being Dr. Walter Veith in his Total Onslaught series, The Islamic Connection. Of course none of it can be verified but Veith does draw some interesting parralles. For instance the Sun and Cresent moon in juxtaposition to the Catholic eucharist in a Monstrance; that only Catholic Churches are built along Mosques and the veneration of Mary (Isis) to name a few. Ted Oplinger Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 While not mentioned by name, Islam is deemed by many to be portrayed as the fulfillment of trumpets 5 and 6 in Revelation. This is supported by the 5 months time prophecy of trumpet 5, coupled with the hour-day-month-year time prophecy of trumpet 6. It is viewed in this perspective as the due consequence of the Christian church devolving into Babylon the mother of harlots, where Islam conquered most of the old Christian lands, and would subsequently repel attempts to defeat it (the Crusades were a abject Papal failure to retake and retain what Islam had conquered). Josiah Lich, in the 1830's, used this interpretation and the time prophecies to start with Islam's conquest of the strategic city of Nicomedia in July, 1299, then pinpoint the ceding of the Ottoman Empire's sovereign protection to Christianity in August, 1840. Even William Miller was nervous as August, 1840 approached. When the Ottoman Empire ceded its sovereign protection to the Christian nations of Russia, Prussia, France, and England against an uprising Egypt, it was hailed as the fulfillment of prophecy that anchored the 2300 day prophecy in place, setting the stage for 1844. Other interpretations have Islam taking the place of the False Prophet of Revelation 16:13. Fitting, as they prize Mohammed as THE prophet of God, but there are issues with that interpretation. As a portrayed future power, it is not pictured in a positive light in the Bible. Blessings Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J.
