fccool Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 That's what happens when you reject God. It's a very clear proof that atheism agnosticism leads to such egregious acts of atrocity and lawlessness, and is responsible for all of the wars and violence worldwide. I hope everyone reading this article will understand that, and repent from their great sin of disbelief, and will abandon their own understanding, and instead rely on that from the Bible. Peace be with all of you. Michael Jackson is a Puertorican. Quote
Windsor Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I didn't find it particularly funny as I believe it was a dig on Christians. Atheists like to claim that if everyone was like them, there would be no terrorism or war. History paints a particularly different picture: see Soviet Russia, China, North Korea for just a few prominent examples. Quote Remember Adventists Online?
Igakusei Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 The communist tyrant trope gets trotted out a lot, but I've never heard a single person explain how the despicable actions of people like Stalin and Mao stemmed from their atheism. It's a very clear proof that atheism agnosticism leads to such egregious acts of atrocity and lawlessness, and is responsible for all of the wars and violence worldwide. Too many wars have been fought in the name of religiion/oppoaing religions. You could argue that the perpetrators' perceptions of God, or what God wants, are wrong but calling them atheists may not be correct. Quote

Ted Oplinger Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 The communist tyrant trope gets trotted out a lot, but I've never heard a single person explain how the despicable actions of people like Stalin and Mao stemmed from their atheism. Stalin and Hitler both had mustaches, should we make some conclusions about men with mustaches while we're at it? Both men renounced any worship of any deity. Both men made worship of any deity forbidden and and enforced this by putting religious adherents at society's bottom rung. Both men promoted a godless, atheistic view of society. Both men made the State "god" over society, and directed people to believe their entire existence came from the "benevolent" state. Both men believed Karl Marx when he wrote "religion is the opiate of the masses". Both men - having no moral compass to direct them, made hideous decisions which resulted in the slaughter of millions of their own populations in the name of "the greater good of society". Neither man is any different than those who did (and currently do) the same things in the name of their god, denying the moral compass plainly in front of them, all in the name of the "greater glory". Good nations, led by good leaders taking care of their peoples, are found wherever their is a strong moral foundation in both government and society. Atheists do not have a good track record in this respect. Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted February 4, 2013 Administrators Posted February 4, 2013 But I think the point is that neither do religious people have a good track record in showing moral values as a foundation of their governance. Atheism does not automatically result in no moral values and immoral conduct. And religion or belief in God does not automatically result in good moral values or behavior. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

Administrators debbym Posted February 8, 2013 Author Administrators Posted February 8, 2013 Quote: The history of the leaders through out the Bible being case in point! the point has been well made, much of the behaviors we attribute to one's philosophy or faith or non faith are really just the outworking of basic human nature. the humor video is a spoof on human nature in political expression. it is bold relief without any of the usual pointing of the finger as to religion being the cause. it is human nature in action pulling strings for power. when we poke fun at the us/them paradigm we can get a glimpse. Us/them is really an illusion. we are all fully equally human and equally able to play power games, whether we have faith or not. i read that God loved the world. the world is us, all of us, every citizen of this earth, inclusively. just because we believe we do not stop being the world. we remain in continual need every moment. So i would suggest that on a milder smaller scale we are the terrorist whenever we get arbitrary, abrupt, controlling, and coercive of those around us. And whatever our persuasion or belief system, it will be blamed. What is it about us, we just have to pass the blame around and around. Now that has been going on a long time. debbym Quote deb Love awakens love. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Atheism does not automatically result in no moral values and immoral conduct. And religion or belief in God does not automatically result in good moral values or behavior. All true - but atheism's track record (of nations with avowed atheism) right out of the gate demonstrated an appallingly fast descent into the same lack of moral restraint....as found with "those religious leaders". For me, I really do believe God's set up (as He has ordained it) never has been given a fair chance here on earth. It cuts across too much of man's sinfulness. One day, though, Christ will ordain that government here into existence (Daniel 2's rock cut without hands, Revelation 11:17). The earthly nations will be angry at this (Revelation 11:18) - and will try to overthrow Christ's rule (Revelation 20:7-20). They will fail...and we will see how things run right is worlds apart from the best we have here on earth right now (Revelation 21, 22). Administrators debbym Posted February 8, 2013 Author Administrators Posted February 8, 2013 yes, The message in the Bible is one of hope and of something better then the round and round we do as selfish human beings. i think the world would be blessed to see believers do or be something other then the self centered beasties we all are by nature... Maybe faith would be less criminalized. debbym Quote deb Love awakens love. Let God be true and every man a liar.
