Other forums and features

Many people here are also members on non-religious forums, such auto forums, pet forums etc.

What feature that is on other forums would you like to see added here, I mean add ons, not a different General forum, for us to change from UBBThreads would be hard right now.

I do check all the other Adventist forums that i know about, in fact they all come up at once, including this one when i active a forum tab. Not many have add-ons. BTW some are really good, one could have been great, and some will never be unless things change. I view them to try and figure out what they are doing to grow and what they are doing to keep people away..

But back to the question, what non-Adventist type forums do you visit, and what kind of features would augment this site if we added them? The chat and the photopost seem to be going over very well.

Sorry, Stan, but the ones that I frequent are ones that are too specilized, ie beekeeping...I suppose it could go under hobbies, but I doubt that anyone here is a beekeeper besides me...

Do either have them any additional features that this forum could acquire? Not really talking about topics, but software etc??

Stan, the main features I'm familiar with, are ones you have already implemented: photo gallery, calendar, and live chat.

We have about 38 gigs of space available.

The Photopost, has the options to send ecards from any photo posted. Some are using that, i think there has been around 60 sent, I sent 7- 8 of those.

Would still like to have some outreach specific sites..

AN example is we could have a site to give a way free Steps to Christ or other books, all we would need is sponsors for that, but I believe that would come. STC is one of my fvorite books, and am amazed how many fellow Church members have never digested that.

Hosting other sites does not cost any more money at all. We do host a couple of ministries, www.ifmypeoplepray.com www.ronnelsononline.com and a couple of others ones..

How about a board or forum advertising upcoming events? I am often bored out of my mind on Sabbath afternoons, and if my church isn't doing anything (like last week), it would be nice to know if any other churches are doing anything.

Also you could have a buying/trading/selling forum, and a coupon forum, I frequent another internet forum, they always have TONS of great deals on many things, I have no problems reposting any here.

I DO like the computer forums you now have, i am a huge computer/electronics geek, and I check there often for new posts.
