bonnie Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Geraldo Rivera 'Truly Contemplating' Running For Senate Posted: 01/31/2013 2:36 pm EST Fox News' Geraldo Rivera said on Thursday that he is "truly contemplating" running for Senate in New Jersey. "I mention this only briefly, fasten your seatbelt," Rivera said on his radio show. "I mentioned this only briefly to my wife... but I am and I’ve been in touch with some people in the Republican Party in New Jersey. I am truly contemplating running for Senate against Frank Lautenberg or Cory Booker.” The Hill reported that Lautenberg, an 89-year old Democratic senator, has not yet announced whether he will run again in 2014. Meanwhile, Booker has said that he is thinking about running for the seat. Rivera noted that he is "having a great time" on his radio show and at Fox News, but added, “I figure at my age, if I’m going to do it I’ve got to do it. And there doesn’t seem to be any Republicans ready to work against or run against Corey Booker, the popular Newark mayor." Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
Members phkrause Posted February 1, 2013 Members Posted February 1, 2013 That should be one interesting run for GR. I'm wondering though if he'd be running for the wrong party? Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Ted Oplinger Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Depends on which state Geraldo runs for Senate in. In some blue states, there's no discernible functional difference between A Republican and a Democrat... Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
Members phkrause Posted February 1, 2013 Members Posted February 1, 2013 I believe it will be NJ? And there is no difference Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
bonnie Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 I believe it will be NJ? And there is no difference There is considerable difference between a tea party conservative and the mealy mouthed moderate republicans. Geraldo does have the personal resume to make a good democrat candidate. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Members phkrause Posted February 1, 2013 Members Posted February 1, 2013 No he makes a perfect Republican Candidate! Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
joeb Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Geraldo is a progressive/socialist, period. It doesn't matter what political party he decides to publicly affiliate himself with, his guiding principles are still that of a progressive/socialist. Quote Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.Alexis de Tocqueville
bonnie Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 No he makes a perfect Republican Candidate! Really?Usually a accusation not proof of immoral conduct against a republican candidate is a death knell for their candidacy. As in Kennedy's,Clintons,Dodd and a host of others it is a resume enhancement. He can come off as conservative but so can many others.Push comes to shove he is a liberal Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. In general I do agree with you OW, problem with that statement is, you did have a famous person that ran the country some years back! Do you include him in that statement? One of his most informative programs I remember catching a few minutes of was "Men who wear lace panties and the women who love them".That is just the trivial ignorant,a whole lot more is out there. Wasn't it Geraldo that drew a map in the sand pending a attack in Iraq for all to see? But all that should enhance his democratic resume or if he runs as a republican get him crucified. Ronald Reagan had a little more class, integrity and pride in the country he served. No way can he be compared to the caliber of those who have run or 'threaten" to run, especially coming from the democratic arena Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. I was not and am not a Reagan fan and never was. Quote
Members phkrause Posted February 2, 2013 Members Posted February 2, 2013 Actually, YES!!! I was not and am not a Reagan fan and never was. Interesting... For instance, I am not one of the ding-dongs out there who want to have him on Mount Rushmore. Quote
