Even when people have very good intentions they often phrase things in ways that others read as attacking or offensive, and the temperature is just too high. Please work very hard on ensuring that you describe the action or belief but avoid judging the motivation of the actor or believer. That requires close attention to the way we use language, and re-reading/editing. I always say that, when a meeting is held in an amicable environment, the procedures can be free-flowing and relacxed, but in a more confrontational environment the Rules of Order are invoked more strictly and provide protection for everyone.
