The pedophile scandal is implausible, unless a whole Seminary has photo evidence against him personally. No, the pedophile scandal, and others, have been boiling over for years, the Vatican brushes them all aside. It's more likely a coup d'ètat from within, planned long in advance. The Pope didn't jump, rather he was pushed, to make way for the final movements of the Great Controversy. In Italy some are saying he'll be sequestered until after the general election. Although the man who is now known as Pope Benedict was Pope John's architect to design Vatican II, he spent the rest of his life trying to dismantle what he built and from what little I've seen, I get the impression that he has simply been going along with the system, and from the little I've read or heard about him from that impeachable source of the press, he just seems like a good ole boy who held the job to give the church hiarchy more time to decide who they really wanted to put in it, and that they must have found someone and so he's willing to retire, and probably more afraid of being like the end of Pope John Paul II of being old and carried around and trying to show some indication of life. All the old methods seem to be stored down in the dungeon in the dark ages museum lock boxes - so what would have been the new way? What could they possibly hold over him as an incentive? (10 days) Or simply could be that he is 85 years old, has dedicated his whole life to his work, wants a couple years to sit back and be an old man and just relax a bit. No matter what you, I, or anyone thinks of the RCC or the Pope, its got to be a time consuming high stress job. Quote
