Woody Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 "Throughout my life I have always been amazed that people couldn't listen to other people, that they couldn't hear their best intent, that there seemed to be an enormous need to demonize." Warren Farrell Wouldn't it be great - if we assumed a person's best intent. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Administrators Gail Posted February 13, 2013 Administrators Posted February 13, 2013 I'll second that! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Hey, Woody, why don't you post this in that thread where there's so much speculation about the pope's resignation? Quote
cricket Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 It's good to assume a person's best intent within reason... Did Eve assume the snake's best intent? If she hadn't, where would we be today? For the most part, I assume a stranger's best intents. It's with the experience of knowing an individual that my assumptions turn more negative with some people. With others, of course, my assumptions turn even more positive. Quote
Members phkrause Posted February 13, 2013 Members Posted February 13, 2013 I'm in agreement with cricket on this. I've pretty much given everyone that I have any kind of dealings with the benefit of the doubt, until something comes up that changes that. But at the same time, if I've heard something about someone than there might be a little more looking into the matter. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
