jasd Posted June 26, 2005 Posted June 26, 2005 The last time news of mad cow disease (Washington state) was aired on the big three networks, I thought, "All right! fer shur fright and a resultant lack of demand will cause the price of 2-3 pound Porterhouse steaks to drop!" Not to be... the price of beef just kept going through the roof and added to that, --gas prices just kept those big cuts of Porterhouse steaks costing beaucoup et beaucoup of buck$ more, --and me more and more desiring the fleshpots of Costco. Due to rumors, Taiwan set to ban import of US beef if test for mad cow disease confirmed. Upon that note, its citizens made a mad dash to purchase existing supplies of beef before anticipated shortage. I guess everybody's nuts, one way or t'other. Quote
