Administrators Gail Posted February 18, 2013 Administrators Posted February 18, 2013 In this thread I would like to read testimonies of how the Holy Spirit has led you in your life. I imagine the accounts will be unique for each and I can't wait to read them! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Gail Posted February 18, 2013 Author Administrators Posted February 18, 2013 I will begin... In my personal life: I found myself a pregnant teen drug user at 18. I just had an overwhelming sense that I wanted to know God. (Holy Spirit working) I did what I knew best in trying to connect with a church. I watched TV. I felt drawn to 2 programs- Search telecast with Laverne Tucker, and It Is Written, with George Vandeman. (Holy Spirit working) I looked up the affiliated denomination and I was surprised to find that both programs were connected with the same church. I found the nearest one in my phone book. Drove there and place a message in their mailbox, saying I would like someone to baptise my baby. Brad Thorp calls me up and tells me that yes, he would baptise my baby but after I have Bible studies. I say, Sure! (Holy Spirit working again, even though Brad wasn't QUITE honest ) The rest is history! The Holy Spirit wasn't finish with me, but that was a mighty working. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Administrators Gail Posted March 7, 2013 Author Administrators Posted March 7, 2013 Yes, thanks for bumping this Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause Posted March 7, 2013 Members Posted March 7, 2013 At this point I think I'll share how the HS has led in the past few months. We got a call to bring our grandson back to Mass, because the DCF was taking my daughters children away from her and into the state's custody. So we needed to get out of our lease otherwise we would have to stay until Dec '12 and who knows what would've happen to our gradkids had we had to wait that long. Well someone came and look at the house and took the place so we could leave. The realitor told us that never happens that fast. When we finally got up to Mass the apartment that was supposed to be ready for us, wasn't. But the guy that was the landlord actually had a condo that his brother was suppose to move into but hadn't. So we got to stay there. And since the condo group doesn't allow condo members to rent out there condo's to anyone, we got to stay for free, for about 6 weeks or so. As we kept looking for a place to stay and also how we would be able to afford keeping our grandsons, etc., the DCF got us to become the Foster Parents. This usually takes a little while and would've meant that both our grandkids would've had to be taken into other foster homes for a few weeks. Well the DCF got us into the program the day after we got into the state. Thank God for this, because than our older grandson would've been taken away from us, the people that have raised him for the previous 3 years. He had never been away from us and I think it would've been really dramatic for him. The condo people, after about being there for 6 weeks, wanted us out by the end of the following week. Well we were at the end of the road because we could not find anything. We started wondering had God abandon us or what. The day we were suppose to be out we went back to a place on a gut feeling, obviously from the HS, the lady there told us we were just on the line of not being able to get any apartments that were state funded. We told her that if we didn't get a place that day we would lose our grandson, till we found a place because we would've been out of the condo and there for no place to live other than the car, and the DCF would've definitely taken him away till we found a place. Well the lady said her and her husband owned two 4 apartment homes down in Worcester, and asked when we would need to move in, we told her that day if possible. They just had a person that move out the day before. Also they usually like to take a month to go thru the apartment after its empty to clean, paint, fix, etc., whatever needs to be done. They had also been foster parents at one time so they knew what we were going through so she told us what we needed to move in and we called a relative who was able to help with the move in money. We moved in that night. Praise the Lord. He brought so many things together, that it just spun our heads as to what he can do in such a short time period He didn't go any faster than what it needed to be, and no slower either I might add. We really learned what it means to wait on the Lord. And one more thing, as foster parents we get an amount of money that, praise the Lord, is exactly the amount we need to pay the rent. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2
Administrators Gail Posted March 7, 2013 Author Administrators Posted March 7, 2013 Wow!!!! I love how everything just dropped into place! Praise God for His care for you! AND- I hope it continues as nicely as it has, in order to prevent the kids from being traumatised. And yes, he blesses every single day, and probably every single minute and second as well. Without us realizing it at that moment, but probably i some time in the future, we'll go, oh ya I remember that, so that's what that was about. I have no problem accepting the fact that some prays are not answered for many, many years.
