bonnie Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Woodward: Obama's Decision Not To Deploy Carrier "A Kind Of Madness" Bob Woodward blasted President Obama on Wednesday morning for deciding to recall an aircraft carrier from the Persian Gulf because of impending budget cuts, calling the decision "a kind of madness." Woodward: Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’ Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document? Under the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country. That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman

And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country. That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time. This isn't the only madness going on involving Obama. He has ordered the Department of Homeland Security(DHS) to begin releasing illegal aliens from prison. Fox News is reporting 500 have been released in Arizona, and the Times is reporting on releases in several other states. Now, ICE is saying that they are only low-risk or no-risk prisoners, but since ICE officers have not been detaining any illegal aliens other than those arrested for serious crimes, this calls their credibility into question. All of this is being done before sequestration becomes a reality, even though the excuse being given is sequestration. Another fact that came to light today is that only $44 billion is being cut in 2013, rather than the reported $83 billion. This makes all these premature moves look even more politically motivated. Obama is ready to punish this entire country because he's not getting his own way. Quote Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.Alexis de Tocqueville
bonnie Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 BOB WOODWARD: A 'Very Senior' White House Person Warned Me I'd 'Regret' What I'm Doing Brett LoGiurato | 16 minutes ago Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a "very senior person" at the White House warned him that he would "regret doing this," the same day he has continued to attack President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester. CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined. "I think they're confused," Woodward said of the White House's pushback on his reporting. Earlier today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a "kind of madness I haven't seen in a long time" for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns. The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester. "Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, 'Oh, by the way, I can't do this because of some budget document?'" Woodward said on MSNBC. "Or George W. Bush saying, 'You know, I'm not going to invade Iraq because I can't get the aircraft carriers I need?'" Or even Bill Clinton saying, 'You know, I'm not going to attack Saddam Hussein's intelligence headquarters,' ... because of some budget document?" Woodward began stirring controversy last weekend, when he called out Obama for what he said was "moving the goal posts" on the sequester by requesting that revenue be part of a deal to avert it. Pretty interesting isn't it? It's great to see that some thinking liberals are finally starting to wake up and speak their minds. That Obama would threaten Woodward is not surprising at all. He's threatened, and cut reporters out of access to both his campaigns and from the White House as a matter of course since the beginning of his first run for the Presidency. OzarkWoman Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I have to wonder how thinking anyone is that it took them this long to figure out that Obama is full of BS and is out to hurt this country. I knew it before he was elected the first time. Quote
Ted Oplinger Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I won't believe the Left has "woken up" until those on the Left who have been so instrumental in this wanton destruction of rights and civilities have been held accountable in the very same way those on the Right are held accountable. Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Blessings, I'm not saying the Left as a group has "woken up". I'm just saying that there are some, like Woodward, who are finally seeing the light. I agree on the accountability issue. The hypocrisy from the left is at a level I don't think I've ever seen, and I've been watching off and on since Nixon myself. I still remember the day I heard on the news that Nixon had raided the Social Security fund for several hundred million. I was sitting in my car eating lunch on what had been a beautiful day up to that point. It's burned into my memory just like the day Kennedy was shot. Ted Oplinger Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Agreed, Joeb! While the Left as a whole has yet to realize what a monstrosity it is we have as government, there are enough journalists who have seen the business end of Obama's machine who are saying, "Do we really have to put up with this?" They may not leave their liberalism behind, but they sure don't agree with how their principles are expressed in government these days. The Democrat party today is all about control of the population, and annihilation of political dissent (which, for now, means complete destruction of the Republican Party as a viable organ for political expression). It may be the certain journalists see where this would ultimately take their Party to - a descent into madness which can only end in totalitarianism and/or bloodshed on a massive scale.
