LifeHiscost Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Is it ever safe to inquire of our feelings when making a decision about anything if we haven't yet determined its' moral worth? And if it is, what would that or they be? Is any decision we make ever innocuous? And if there is, then what would it or they be? Since every Word that God speaks is without the need for improvement, should that be a goal of ours, to speak nothing unless it cannot be improved on? And how much time should be spent considering a subject like this? Should the Christian not speak any Word until satisfied all will be pleased with the thought? And if not, what percentage of displeasure should be allowed before expressing personal conclusions? God cares! Quote Lift Jesus up!!

First question: No, but feelings are always part of any decision-making process we humans employ. Maybe that's part of why we humans make so many bad moral decisions. Is any decision ever innocuous? I don't think so, at least in the context of right and wrong or morality. We probably aren't aware of all of the consequences of even what we think are our most innocuous decisions in those areas. I'm not sure I really understand what you're asking in your last couple of paragraphs. Quote Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.Alexis de Tocqueville
Administrators debbym Posted March 12, 2013 Administrators Posted March 12, 2013 i think you need to take into consideration your audience. rather than consult how you feel, consider how others feel. Jesus did this too. Jesus never caused needless pain to a sensitive soul. Quote deb Love awakens love. Let God be true and every man a liar.
Administrators Gail Posted March 13, 2013 Administrators Posted March 13, 2013 The book "Gospel Workers" has some good information about how to bring messages to others and how to treat people. Some people have the gift of tact to the point that they can reprove others and get away with it and win the person. I do not have that gift. And I remember reading (but cannot remember where now) about how church members actually help struggling ones out the church door with how they treat them. It's an art, I think, as well as a gift, to treat people as needed. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

HopefulOne Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Scripture: Proverbs 15:10. "Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die." "The office of a messenger whom God has chosen to send with reproofs and warnings, is strangely misunderstood at the present time. When reproof is given, the church members feel humiliated, as their real situation is revealed to them, which they were not able to discern. God in mercy sent them warnings and reproof because he loved them. He says, 'As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore and repent' (Revelation 3:19). Those who need reproof bring sorrow and grief upon the soul of him who must correct their errors; but though his message be painful to him, he dare not neglect his work. Those who deserve reproofs feel hurt under personal admonition. Pride is wounded, and Satan suggests that their mistakes and errors will be reported to others, and remarks will be made in reference to their mistaken course of action. It would be well for these individuals to realize that their defects are manifest to all, and the world measures them by that which they do. Not only this world beholds their course, but they are a spectacle to the angels of heaven. The heavenly host are looking upon every man, woman, and child, and they see the defects of their characters. Besides this, nothing is hid from God; our secret sins are in the light of His countenance." The Review and Herald, July 25, 1893. HopefulOne Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 God holds His people, as a body, responsible for the sins existing in individuals among them. If the leaders of the church neglect to diligently search out the sins which bring the displeasure of God upon the body, they become responsible for these sins. {3T 269.2} Quote Sunday, a child of the Papacy, has taken the place of God's holy Sabbath. Jesus is the truth the light and the way. unfortunately as human beings we are capable of holding the scriptures in unrighteousness. humility and hope and faith are needed as we approach the scriptures so we do not twist them and use them to serve our purposes. especially to use them to strike others to supposedly to wake them up to God. we do not know how to judge others. we do not see as God sees. it is the still small voice that speaks to us, showing us, this is the way, walk ye in it. IT is the voice of the Holy Spirit. Quote deb Love awakens love. Let God be true and every man a liar.

On just the part of your post I've quoted I must disagree with you. Just because someone holds the scriptures in unrighteousness does not make the scripture they use false, or untruthful. It means the use they make of the scripture leaves a false impression. Truth is always truth, and God is never a liar even though the devil loves to try to make Him appear to be that way. It means the use they make of the scripture leaves a false impression. i think this is why we have the expressing, having the "truth as it is in Jesus" i believe you can have the word, however true it can be or is.... the biblical text, and not have anything. Satan has read the Bible lots and he never had any truth in His hands. the word of God through the Holy Spirit is an expression of God in humanity and God with humanity. Jesus was the living example of God in Humanity, and His father and the Spirit of God were also with him fully. we are to be living expressions of God in humanity also, through the Spirit working through the word. here we have the human agency, the writer, filled and inspired with the Spirit and comprehending the truths of God, that are being given to him. And then we have the written inspired word. you take the work of the Spirit away from that word, you do not have much. Even though it was written under the moving of the Spirit, you must have that same spirit or the word will not be alive to you in any way. it is only words. When God speaks his word is living and powerful forever. His word is with full power to create and recreate. but the Book of the bible is nothing without the living energizing power of the Holy Spirit. Every word can be used to support error. and it is in false religions that use the scripture. Just like if you take the Holy Spirit out of a person's heart, you have whatever is left, yes it is still God's creation but without anything there that God wants for them. Just like Satan is God's creation but without the Holy Spirit in him what is left. this does not mean we can dismiss the word and just have the spirit, anymore then we can dismiss the human being and just have the spirit. it is all about humanity being restored to full relationship with God, In Christ, in His Word, and in our lives. there is a wonderful verse that says, "Hold fast the form of sound words."
