Moderators lazarus Posted March 13, 2013 Moderators Posted March 13, 2013 Folks used to change their avatars quite frequently in the past. Seems like folks hardly change them now. Why is that? Do avatars have an impact on our posting style? Do people respond to posts based, in part, on the avatar of the poster? What does it mean when someone doesn't have an avatar? Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence. Einstein
cricket Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I don't change mine as frequently because I'm too busy with other things. It is more likely that my avatar was a reflection of my posting style, not the other way around. I do respond to posts based in part on the avatar of the poster. Right now, my lack of avatar means I haven't taken the time to create another one that is sized to fit. Quote
M. T. Cross Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 My avatar usually has something to do with my belief system, or something I am currently studying or has made an impression on me. So when I change it, I change it everywhere, and it generally just means something has sparked my interest. Quote
Moderators Bravus Posted March 14, 2013 Moderators Posted March 14, 2013 Mine (a) looks quite a lot like I look in real life, although I wear small glasses most of the time these days, and ( is a pretty happy, benign looking dude, which is how I think of myself, and which I think does probably help 'flavor' my posts a bit. Quote Truth is important
Administrators Gail Posted March 14, 2013 Administrators Posted March 14, 2013 I couldn't be bothered to change mine, but now that you mention it perhaps I should think about it. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted March 14, 2013 Administrators Posted March 14, 2013 It's the little girl in you shining through... As for me, my avatar just expresses something about me that most people here really might not believe is really me. I also have long been a Calvin and Hobbs fan. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)

And it sets my 5 y/o into fits of giggles, please never change it. Quote
