This morning I received confirmation of an invitation to be part of a forum in Istanbul, Turkey to speak on Islam in the Bible and related prophecy. It will be held on March 25. One of the attendees from our mini series in Turkey last July is a leading member of the ruling government party, which we did not know at the time. He was so impressed with what he heard from the Bible and what is supported by world history that he wanted his government officials to hear it as well. You have received this as I request prayer for this meeting coming up shortly for all things to work for good and according to HIS word. Making travel arrangements this late will make all cost more expensive, but we ask for HIS will to be done. Ever since we found this truth in our SDA archives I have believed someone would have the opportunity to share with our Muslim brothers and sisters in Islamic governments around the world what SDAs have believed in the past, and now this opportunity has come. Please pray that I will be in God’s hands and be able to correctly share the Third Angels’ Messages.

This opportunity should not be construed as a break through in the world of Islam, this is just an opportunity that has been presented to a SDA by the providential leading of God. In the past other SDA have had similar opportunities. Please pray for me.

I've been following this story for awhile now, it's good news.

But I have a serious question which remains to be answered:

He says,

"Ever since we found this truth in our SDA archives..."

What does that mean? It suggests he has stumbled onto some mysterious hidden truth, or SOP quote that explains Daniel, or what? I don't buy it, somethings not right here.

I remain skeptical, as any good Berean would...

If anything I am glad for this understanding of the people of the east. Traditionally, as far as I can tell, Christians in general have not been very positive towards them. Adventists have an understanding that helps bring them to the Bible through prophecy and the health message. I know it has helped me with my communications with my Muslim friends.

The understanding of the Muslim people for the world Church has been a terrific blessing. It helps the Muslims as well as ourselves to appreciate the prophecies of Daniel and their accuracy. It increases confidence in the word of God. It opens doors that might otherwise be closed. It is a blessing.

As it concerns this "finding in the archives", the question has been asked for some time now, in a spirit of love and sharing. Myself and others are still waiting for a response. This subject (Daniel) has been under intense scrutiny for over a hundred years. It would be remarkable if anything new was found in the archives to shed light on it. Those who study Daniel are very anxious to examine this "new data". And truth can withstand the closest examination.
