It is Sabbath, and I am at work, slaving away to save peoples careless lives ....and I find a few moments to find that there are 299 of you un-registered people in the onLine forum...Why you want to congregate there, is beyond me as this is where you need to be...in other forums like this one that allows you to participate with people like me who have stayed up all night to save someone's life.... CyberGuy Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 NeilD As I stated in another thread when one does not sign onto this forum but checks the threads without signing on it registers as Anonymous on the who is online. If that person would check out 20 threads it would register as 20 Anonymous on the who is online. So just because there may be 80 or more Anonymous listings on who is online does not mean that there is 80 different people. More likely just a handful of people who did not sign on looking at a lot of threads. Quote Riverside CA
Neil D Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 I tried that out....signed in as an anonomi....checked out whose on line....found several 'viewing forums'...when to one forum, entered a thread for 1/2 a moment, went to another thread, then went to whose on line, and found that in under a minute, I showed up twice. I thought...Went to several other threads, and when back on to whose on line....found only one thread that I was on....And I realized....., that it takes note of whose on line minute by minute...so if you change thread within the minute, you show up twice...but if you take longer than a minute, you only show up ONCE!..... So, I tried to show up 3 times in 3 different theads, and I couldn't do it.... Conclusion : it pretty close to accurate as to how many annonomi there are.... Um...I hope that several people don't try this all at once as it may cause the software to crash...... I mentioned this, Stan.... Admins can see the IP number and I do not see one twice, I DO see a member name in the who's online and see the IP number below if they log out. NEIL I do not think that coudl crash this...
