Planned Parenthood Official Argues for Right to Post-Birth Abortion

11:36 AM, Mar 29, 2013 • By JOHN MCCORMACK

Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.

Alisa LaPolt Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.

"So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief," said Rep. Jim Boyd. "If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”

"We believe that any decision that's made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician," said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.

Rep. Daniel Davis then asked Snow, "What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?”

"I do not have that information," Snow replied. "I am not a physician, I am not an abortion provider. So I do not have that information.”

Rep. Jose Oliva followed up, asking the Planned Parenthood official, "You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?”

Again, Snow replied, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.”

“I think that at that point the patient would be the child struggling on the table, wouldn’t you agree?” asked Oliva.

"That’s a very good question. I really don’t know how to answer that," Snow said. "I would be glad to have some more conversations with you about this.”

Later another representative asked Snow, “What objection could you possibly have to obligate a doctor to transport a child born alive to a hospital where it seems to me they would be most likely to be able to survive?”

Snow said Planned Parenthood was concerned about "those situations where it is in a rural health care setting, the hospital is 45 minutes or an hour away, that’s the closest trauma center or emergency room. You know there’s just some logistical issues involved that we have some concerns about.”

Than don't do the abortion if you think that that situation is gonna happen!!!! Or have a clinic at the hospital so your closer, and if the hospital says they don't want a clinic than don't, again, do the abortion, when you know that that is gonna happen. Of course he can't answer those question, because if he does, than he'd have to lie.

I don't imagine that the thought of a live infant is what they are expecting.

So do you believe that if a child is born alive the mother and Dr have a right to finish the job? How do you decide, smother them, give them a shot of something or ??

It is murder and no one should have a right to decide to commit that

Probably not.

Absolutely not, because we now have a viable human being. These people can debate all they want about a fetus and when it becomes a viable human being. But when they've botched the job so to speak, and the baby, which in my opinion, we now have, there should be no "finishing of the job" as you say.

This is far beyond Roe VS Wade

That is what Planned Parenthood is saying.Up to the mother and her Dr

So it is up to the mother and the health care provider to decide....what? To commit homicide?

I care not for what anyone would say about the woman's "rights" at this point - the new born baby is now a living, breathing human, outside the womb - and has the God-given right to life. That supersedes the mother's "right to privacy of the womb", as her womb is now empty of the fetus.

ANYTHING that substantially takes away from that baby's right to life (on the mother's part, or the so-called health-provider) becomes at best negligent homicide, or even murder.

At what point are we going to call murder and homicide for what they are?

Or, when someone is slain on the streets, we call it yet another unfortunate "post-birth abortion"?

It is plain sick, in my opinion, that this is even casually talked about in those circles.

"As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. What if 1 week after birth the mother decides to abort? A month? A year? 5 years?

No matter which side of the abortion fence you are on, you cannot say that living breathing children should be allowed to be murdered by their mother or her doctor.
