In the current issue there is an article about Phoebe which the anti-ordination of women people are chewing to bits. Probably because the article appears in a GC official magazine makes them think the church is going to the dogs. It is a simple reality that the Review has room for only one side of the WO issue. The magazine is "Ministry", the one that Derek is editor of, the one where the article about Phoebe can be found. As for one-sidedness of the Review on the WO issue... Not sure how you came to that either. Have you been reading it lately? I would say they are covering the topic in a balanced way. It sounds as though you would prefer a one-sided approach "balanced" to the anti-WO extreme to the exclusion of anything in favor of WO. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." We think we know our history, or our culture...but in truth, we don't....We have forgotten somethings about our culture and first and formost is that we forget the women who have done extra-ordinary things....History class never taught me about Susan B Anthony...I had to have a coin minted to pique my curiousity to look into her history before I understood why she was worthy of a coin being minted with her image upon it....Anyone know who Sojourner Truth was? [Did I spell her name right?] We may know who Marie Curie, but do we know who Lise Meitner is? Or Rosalind Franklin? or Grace Murray Hopper? or Erna Schneider? The point is that women's contributions are not well known and Phoebe's contributions to the church have gone unnoticed for centuries and the depth to which those deeds have helped the church has been diminished while men's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed in many a case....
