Narcah Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Someone should have warned me it was a lot of work painting a car. Maybe they did and I wasn't listening... I've had my 89 Camaro Iroc (350/a4 with 85k original miles) for the last 14 years, and over the years the paint has taken a beating. This week I finally bit the bullet and painted it... I hvlp painted it with thecoatingstore.com gunmetal metallic base (upper) and semi-gloss hod rod black (lower) with 3 layers of clear, wet sanded to 2000 grit, then 2 more layers of clear. I shot the last clear coat today and couldn't wait for it to set enough to buff before I took pics. I can't wait to buff and polish it, I'm hoping it really takes a super shine. Watch me do something wrong and screw the whole thing up... Quote -Jason Youtube.com/narcah
Members phkrause Posted April 6, 2013 Members Posted April 6, 2013 Nice, I had a '69, it was a speed demon, it never lost a race. :) Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29;2

Narcah Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 I'm glad I didn't have to hand brush it. HVLP (high volume, low pressure) spray gun works like a charm. Quote -Jason Youtube.com/narcah
