bonnie Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 BILL HAS GONE AND DONE IT AGAIN... WELL SAID, BILL It's NOT about color... It's about behavior!!! They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk: Why you ain't, Where you is, What he drive, Where he stay, Where he work, Who you be... And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk. Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of [censored] coming out of your mouth. In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an Education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics. I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol? And where is the father? Or who is his father? People putting their clothes on backward: Isn't that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something? Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body? What part of Africa did this come from?? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa ..... I say this all of the time. It would be like white people saying they are European-American. That is totally stupid. I was born here, and so were my parents and grand parents and, very likely my great grandparents. I don't have any connection to Africa, no more than white Americans have to Germany , Scotland , England , Ireland , or the Netherlands . The same applies to 99 percent of all the black Americans as regards to Africa . So stop, already! ! ! With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that [censored] ......... And all of them are in jail. Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We, as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.. We cannot blame the white people any longer.' ~Dr.. William Henry 'Bill' Cosby, Jr., Ed..D. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. bonnie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 LOL, Boonie. So many of segments of society behave as described and think the idea of success is some kind of bad joke. Those that do are destined to stay right where they are at. That is white,black,bi-racial,hispanic or any other skin color you can name Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. bonnie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 I'm not laughing at what Bill Cosby said, I'm laughing at your passive-aggressive posting. I think you have a strange idea of what passive-aggressive means. Nothing passive aggressive about it. I think what was said was right on the money. I am sure because Bill Cosby is black and I posted that you assume that I think it is only a problem for the black american community and a subtle jab. It holds true across all color lines.I have little patience for the welfare or give me mentality, regardless of the color of the hand that is waiting for a handout. I don't think that any skin color is special. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 The content of the post is fine. So it shouldn't have been posted because you see it as passive aggressive? Moderators lazarus Posted April 8, 2013 Moderators Posted April 8, 2013 Poor me,I can't doesn't seem to be in what Bill Cosby or Ben Carson was saying You keep saying "poor me". Who is saying that in your house? Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. bonnie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 You keep saying "poor me". Who is saying that in your house? Lol,Lazurus.Anytime you cannot confront a issue you need to turn it into mockery. But just for the fun of it I will answer you. I grew up in a family that knew more about poverty than any that are on welfare in this day and age.Black or white.Poverty can be pretty equal opportunity. No one else was ever blamed, nor were we taught to expect and demand what others had worked for. That was never seen as a right. It would never have occurred to us to blame those that had more. Somehow as poor as my parents were they were always willing to share what they had,not looking to the government to do what they felt they should be doing. Working long hours for low pay was not someone else's fault. It was the circumstances they found themselves in. In time because of the willingness to work long hours the situation improved so that by the time I was in my teens we were still poor, but not worse off than anyone else in that category. Poverty was not invented the last couple of decades,a disease that there isn't any cure for except entitlements. The "poor me" that you are questioning is any that claim they "Can't" because of lack of education, skin color,or that dreaded 1% I must live in the ghetto because no one will take me out,I can't get an education because there are those that will not make a exception for my special circumstances.upbringing or skin color. I am special because I am poor, make that go away. I find your mocking rather funny but kind of sad in a way. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this. Quotes by Susan Gottesman
joeb Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Bonnie, You don't get it. As far as Lazarus is concerned you shouldn't think about, comment on, even have an opinion on anything done in the black community because that's racist as far as he's concerned. He's so wrapped up in black vs white that he can't see that we cheer because we see a black man standing up and talking about the issues that affect the black community. Why do we cheer? Because we would like to see them have a better life and until the problems are confronted head on nothing will happen for the better. But, once again, because we are white Lazarus thinks we shouldn't have any comment or thoughts on the issues because that's racist. He's so wrapped up in black vs white he can't recognize those from the white community who wish his people well. He thinks we all hate him and his people and want to keep them down. That nothing could be further from the truth never enters his head. Quote Liberty cannot be established without morality, nor morality without faith.Alexis de Tocqueville

That nothing could be further from the truth never enters his head. I think you are right, but it is still sad in any event. As long as race, poverty and unfairness are the by-words that liberals live by,there is a purpose to their existence. Someone like Ben Carson comes along and their reason to exist in their liberal mindset disappears. Race and poverty is big business, making a great deal of money and a cushy living for those that owe their parasitic livilihood to those topics. There will always be those that truly "can't" regardless of their skin color, but they are overshadowed by those that don't feel they have to because they are owed something, because of their skin color or their economic situation. Lazurus said that Ben Carson wasn't as nuanced as Condi Rice and should be. Maybe we have a different idea of what that means but for me,he would have been more acceptable had he been more subtle in what he was saying. What is there so special about liberal's that can only deal with truth if it is soft pedaled. Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. Because feigning ignorance with such a comment as this is not a tenable position for an intelligent man, maybe? Interesting that one who plays the race card so very often, would decry such a point which would be made in nanoseconds were the positions reversed. Blessings!
