M. T. Cross Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 What examples of love and compassion, kindness and hope did you see today? What did you do today to promote these things? Quote
thx4mercy Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Nice thread! I was around only one other person today, so only example I can think of is the love of God in the blooming flowers and trees. What a miracle! I mailed 7 letters today, mainly to widows, just giving them something to see in their mailbox. I send one about every week to them. Quote

I agree, watching nature wake up from its winter sleep is a great example of love. I am sure those widows really appreciate that. Everyone needs to know they still matter to someone. Quote
M. T. Cross Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 The examples I saw today was the look on my sons face when I showed up to pick him up from school today. Because of my work schedule I was unable to for the last couple months, and while he likes taking the bus he likes it better when he gets a ride. He told me on the way home it is because he likes having that time when its just me and him. That warmed my heart pretty good. Not sure really what I did today in a specific instance. I just tried to be decent to everyone I talked to I guess. Quote
ClubV12 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I ran into the Church gardener today, as we talked he told me the weed wacker was broke. So I told him I'd be back to pick it up and fix it. He loved that idea... One of those big ones with wheels and handle bars, gonna need the trailor. Quote

Good on ya Club, I'm sure that will make his life a bunch easier. Sometimes a helping hand means more to someone than we know. I just saw one of those weed wackers the other day. I had never seen one that was not just one of the held hand ones before. Very cool, I think now that I have a big yard again I am gonna look into getting one. Quote
LifeHiscost Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 What examples of love and compassion, kindness and hope did you see today? What did you do today to promote these things? Each time I go to town, my wife needing 24/7 care as a result of memory loss, I make effort to make sure she gets to make one or more decisions to do something she would like to do. And as we shop as we did today, each person we trade with I make effort to say something that lets them know their effort on my behalf is much appreciated. Because I'm not naturally an unselfish person I also try, if the opportunity seems to warrant it, to find a way to let the person/s involved know I trust in Divine Providence for the goodness He is so willing to enable us to experience. Moderators Gerr Posted April 9, 2013 Moderators Posted April 9, 2013 Love and Judgment - been studying this subject this week (SS Lesson). Many years ago, I saw a newborn kitty that was either feral or abandoned on the road. I didn't like cats, but I felt sorry it, so I took it home. This cat had helped my wife maintain her hold on God through many bumps on the road of life. We couldn't help thinking that if such a creature could be so loving and faithful, its creator could not be but more loving and faithful. She is still mourning the loss of the cat. After giving us 21 years of joy, it died almost a month ago. Quote
Administrators debbym Posted April 9, 2013 Administrators Posted April 9, 2013 Prayed with a grandmother whose grandkids are being abused. It is breaking her heart, but she is trusting God and letting nothing stop her from continuing to reach out. I encourage her with all my heart. Those kids will know they are greatly loved in spite of everything. What a loving and powerful grandmother! Quote deb Love awakens love. Let God be true and every man a liar.
Administrators Gail Posted April 9, 2013 Administrators Posted April 9, 2013 Never underestimate the power of a mother(grandmother)'s prayers!! Thanks for the uplifting topic! LifeHiscost Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Quote: After giving us 21 years of joy, it died almost a month ago. We relate to you since we had a sealpoint Angora kitty that was with us for 19 years before blindness caused us to put him down. We had originally accepted a flawed purebred because we knew it would have been destroyed and it turned out to be one of the best, most loving pets we ever had. There is no doubt in our minds that God will give, at least for those who inherit the earth, their pets back to them if they make that choice. Liz Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 I like this thread! Mine is a small one, but after a long and tedious phone call, the other person wished me a good day. I know it's small but I really needed the sincerity and friendliness that she put in her voice. It was much needed and appreciated. Sometime the littlest things can make all the difference. ClubV12 Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Liz, it's the little things that make up the fabric of happiness in life. That is SO true! Quote
