Guest Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Click here! http://vimeo.com/58385453 Full Moon Silhouettes is a real time video of the moon rising over the Mount Victoria Lookout in Wellington, New Zealand. People had gathered up there this night to get the best view possible of the moon rising. I captured the video from 2.1km away on the other side of the city. It's something that I've been wanting to photograph for a long time now, and a lot of planning and failed attempts had taken place. Finally, during moon rise on the 28th January 2013, everything fell into place and I got my footage. The video is as it came off the memory card and there has been no manipulation whatsoever. Technically it was quite a challenge to get the final result. I shot it on a Canon ID MkIV in video mode with a Canon EF 500mm f/4L and a Canon 2x extender II, giving me the equivalent focal length of 1300mm. Mark Gee Quote

Mark Gee Downright miraculous given that the moon does not move that fast as compared to the motion of people. Still a great video! in Christ, Bob Quote John 8:32 - The Truth will make you free“The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." COL 316.
Guest Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I think maybe he made two videos, and put one over the other. OR, they could be right at that corner of the earth where the moon rounds the corner rather quickly when it comes around. Just because we live on the flat part of the earth, doesn't mean everybody does. Somebody has always had to inhabit the edges. ) Quote
Planey Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Somebody has always had to inhabit the edges. Yep. Wellington is about equivalent to New York City. Certainly 'the edges'. Narcah Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Actually the moon does move fast when viewed through a high powered lense. This video I shot is real time if I remember right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4jjuYEe1s0 Quote -Jason Youtube.com/narcah

What would have been the motivation for that? Thanks Narcah! Quote
Members phkrause Posted April 20, 2013 Members Posted April 20, 2013 Another great shot of the moon. I have some I've taken with still photos, but have no idea where I have them. Way to many to look through, besides there probably in Florida still. Quote phkrause When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
