Igakusei Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Do you care about the methodology behind how those charts are made and presented, or is their conclusion the only part that you find important? Quote I believe in life before death
olger Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 We have been told by climate alarmists that the smoking gun (or tailpipe) has been found. "Debate is over, CO2 is the main dial." Not so fast. With no warming for the past 16+ years, despite rapid increase in CO2 concentration, this much should be clear. The computer models' assumption that global average temperature is highly sensitive to increased CO2 is a problem, no? Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."
Moderators Bravus Posted May 11, 2013 Moderators Posted May 11, 2013 There is not 'no warming'. The ocean heat data have been presented. Water can hold far more heat than air. The net heat in the biosphere has been steadily increasing through all that time. Quote Truth is important

Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted May 11, 2013 Administrators Posted May 11, 2013 We have been told by climate alarmists that the smoking gun (or tailpipe) has been found. "Debate is over, CO2 is the main dial." Not so fast. With no warming for the past 16+ years, despite rapid increase in CO2 concentration, this much should be clear. The computer models' assumption that global average temperature is highly sensitive to increased CO2 is a problem, no? "Not so fast" yourself quick draw... No warming?!?! Even your own graphs show warming. Just because it is not an exact match to the predictive computer models is not a reason to create a new reality. Reality is closer to the predictive models than it is to the deniers denial models. Read here for real info http://www.skepticalscience.com/. Or - http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy...nge_denial.html And be sure to watch the short video. What is amazing is that deniers are not even good fiction writers. Good fiction facilitates what is called "suspension of disbelief" by creating an internally consistent fictional reality. That means that all the elemental details are supportive of the rubric of the fictional reality. In science fiction this would be creating scientific "evidence" that does not contradict the fake science. Quote "Absurdity reigns and confusion makes it look good." "Sinless perfection is such a shallow goal." "I love God only as much as the person I love the least." *Forgiveness is always good news. And that is the gospel truth. (And finally, the ideas expressed above are solely my person views and not that of any organization with which I am associated.)
olger Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 "Curses..they’ve found us out! That’s another fine mess you’ve got us into, Hansen." More interesting is that the cagw (and even agw) zealots all sound far less confident and more conservative regarding minimum sensitivity. Kevin Trenberth speculating that late 20th C warming might have been over-emphasized and that natural mechanisms may have been underestimated is intriguing to say the least. This is a long step back from stating the “missing heat is a travesty and the data had to be wrong." It's fun to watch alarmists scramble to explain why they threw a party and the btu's didn't show up. They put all their chips on the IPCC's models and models are always wrong -- these egregiously so. Why egregious? - because they demand that we spend trillions for nothing. always, G Quote "Please don't feed the drama queens.."

M. T. Cross Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 fa·nat·ic [fuh-nat-ik] Show IPA noun 1. a person with an extreme and uncritical enthusiasm or zeal, as in religion or politics. adjective 2. fanatical. Origin: 1515–25; < Latin fānāticus pertaining to a temple, inspired by orgiastic rites, frantic, equivalent to fān ( um ) temple + -āticus, equivalent to -āt ( us ) -ate1 + -icus -ic Related forms non·fa·nat·ic, noun, adjective Can be confused: 1. fanatic, frantic, frenetic (see synonym study at the current entry) ; 2. fanatic, phonetic. Synonyms 1. enthusiast, zealot, bigot, hothead, militant. Fanatic, zealot, militant, devotee refer to persons showing more than ordinary support for, adherence to, or interest in a cause, point of view, or activity. Fanatic and zealot both suggest excessive or overweening devotion to a cause or belief. Fanatic further implies unbalanced or obsessive behavior: a wild-eyed fanatic. Zealot only slightly less unfavorable in implication than fanatic implies single-minded partisanship: a tireless zealot for tax reform. Militant stresses vigorous, aggressive support for or opposition to a plan or ideal and suggests a combative stance. Devotee is a milder term than any of the foregoing, suggesting enthusiasm but not to the exclusion of other interests or possible points of view: a jazz devotee. Quote
Ted Oplinger Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Thanks for sharing. Interesting points posited... Blessings, Quote "As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17 "The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Waggoner, The Glad Tidings "Courage is being scared to death - and saddling up anyway" - John Wayne "The person who pays an ounce of principle for a pound of popularity gets badly cheated" - Ronald Reagan
